If you want a zombie co-op where dying actually matters, try No More Room in Hell 2

Been playing No More Room in Hell 2 now that it finally hit 1.0, and honestly, this is probably one of the better zombie co-op games I've played in a while.

It's slow, brutal and doesn't give a shit about making you feel powerful.

Ammo is scarce, zombies react to sound, and if your character dies, they're fucking dead. No quick respawn and back into the action. You lose that character and all the progress you've made with them.

That completely changes how you play.

You start thinking twice before firing your gun, sneaking around groups instead of wasting ammo, and actually communicating with your team. And when one of your friends gets fucked up on the other side of the map, you have to decide whether you're going back for them or just accepting that they're probably dead.

That's where the game is at its best.

It's definitely not another Left 4 Dead where you run around mowing down hundreds of zombies. It's slower, more tense and much more focused on actually surviving.

The 1.0 update also makes a pretty big difference. There's more content, new maps, Survival Mode, Solo Mode and a bunch of polish compared to the Early Access version. It's still not perfect and I can see the gameplay getting repetitive if you're playing for dozens of hours, but with a decent group of friends it's fucking good.

I gave it 8/10 in my review.

If you're looking for a zombie game where you actually feel like you're one bad decision away from getting eaten, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I reviewed Ledgerbound – a tactical RPG where even saving the world feels like a corporate job

Just finished playing Ledgerbound, and honestly, I didn't expect the corporate satire to work as well as it does.

It's a tactical RPG with pretty obvious Fire Emblem influences, but instead of simply copying the formula, it adds some interesting ideas of its own. You have grid-based combat, elemental weaknesses, Sigils, additional battle objectives, character relationships and, probably my favorite part, a limited amount of time to manage what you do between missions.

The whole "heroes working for a company" idea sounds like it could get old quickly, but the writing and voice acting do a surprisingly good job of keeping it entertaining.

I gave it 8.5/10 in my review. It's not the most challenging tactical RPG out there, but I think it does enough differently to stand out.

Has anyone else played it? I'm curious what people think about the time-management system, because that ended up being one of my favorite parts.

Kynseed Review

I finally gave Kynseed a proper shot... and I honestly think it deserves way more attention.

I went in expecting "another Stardew-like," but it's actually a lot weirder and way more ambitious than I expected.

Instead of just farming, you can run businesses, cook, forge, explore dungeons, fight monsters, build relationships, and eventually continue playing as your own children. That whole generational system completely changes how you think about progression.

The world has this really charming British folklore vibe (not surprising since it was made by former Fable devs), and it slowly grows on you the more you play.

It's definitely not perfect, though.

The first few hours are pretty slow, there are a lot of mechanics thrown at you, and some systems could definitely use better tutorials. It also gets a bit repetitive after a while.

Still... once everything clicks, it's hard to stop playing.

I'd personally give it an 7/10.

If you're into games like Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Fable, or just want a cozy RPG with a lot more depth than it first appears, I think it's worth checking out.

I wrote a full review here if anyone's interested:

Curious what everyone else thinks about Kynseed. I feel like this game never really got the attention it deserved.

Anyone else played Helix: Descent N Ascent?

I wasn't expecting much from Helix: Descent N Ascent, but it ended up being one of those indie games that quietly grows on you.

The monochrome art style immediately stands out, but what kept me playing was the puzzle design and environmental storytelling. The game never explains everything directly, so you're encouraged to experiment, explore, and piece together the world on your own.

It's definitely not for players looking for constant action. The pacing is slow, there's plenty of backtracking, and some puzzles require real patience. But if you enjoy games like Tunic, Cocoon, or Chants of Sennaar, there's a good chance this one will click with you.

Has anyone else played it? I'm curious how people interpreted the story and whether you enjoyed the more cryptic approach to exploration.
