Chemical Marriage is ringing a bell for me, but I don't know which one.

Hey. Just started listening to Mr Bungle this year. Man, I've been missing out.

But I've run into a bit of a weird problem. There's a section of Chemical Marriage that sounds like something eerily familiar, but I can't for the life of me figure out why that is. Specifically, its one of the mellow sections with the bass guitar and the drums from 0:47 to 1:02 that shows up a couple of times in the song.

I swear I've heard this before, but I for the life of me couldn't figure it out. Anyone else able to help?

Great song btw.

People aren't getting paid?

I got my AISH the other day. But I've seen a lot of issues about people getting their pay cut, and some not receiving their benefits at all?

Anyone able to clarify what's happening?

Not looking for "Danny Smith is trying to erase us" comments. Just looking to get down to brass tax.

Been pulling away from people since my diagnosis. Need outside opinions

I (29M) was diagnosed with PTSD back in April of 2026. Its recontextualized my entire life, and has fundamentally reshaped how I see relationships with my family. As a result, I've been pulling away, I'm moving out of my mothers place and into my own apartment despite the shitty state of the economy due to the environment being triggering (not willing to elaborate) I'm planning to excommunicate my father for being the abuser that was the primary source of my trauma, and cutting off the rest of my family tree (with the exception of my siblings) for either doing nothing to stop the abuse when they could have, or for being abusive themselves.

I've been pulling away from friends too. Not that I want or need to; I have solid friends I hang with every week. But I've been spending less time with them as I try to be alone and have tried to hide away as much as I can without causing too much concern, and because I'm busy getting ready for the move to my new apartment.

Is this a normal thing just after getting diagnosed, pulling away like this? Is it normal to want everyone to just leave you alone and not bother you to this degree? I'm trying to process this, but I only see my counselor so often... any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Is it wrong to be wanted?

TW: mentions of childhood trauma, abuse

Apologies if my post is a bit messy.

The past few months, I've been dealing with having to see everything in my life through the lens of my recent PTSD diagnosis back in April. Maybe I'm hyperfixating on it too much but its been making me feel lonelier than ever.

I've messed up romantic relationships too, and I've been worried about becoming my father (who was narcissistic and abusive to me)

While I was being abused by my father, he would tell everyone that I was an animal (I wasn't, I was an Autistic child melting down because his father was throwing hands at him and was terrified) he even called the cops on me if I screamed too loud out of fear.

Ever since my fucked upbringing, I've messed up relationships and have spent a decade now wishing I hadn't, because I feel lonelier than ever. I keep my family at a distance. I feel like a stranger among my own friends. I have no place where I feel truly heard, even with the psychologist I'm seeing. I'm hoping that'll change, as I'm in a small Canadian town and can't get much help elsewhere, plus he's at least helpful, but there's moments where I still feel a bit misunderstood.

I just want to be accepted as I am and fully understood by someone in my life. I don't want to have to simultaneously worry about hurting others and getting hurt anymore. I yearn for closeness in literally any capacity. Like not even romantic. I'd take a friend of mine becoming like a brother to me. I'll take anything at this point, just so I can ask for some help from someone I can trust to help me carry this weight without having to worry if they'll just hurt me or abandon me.

I just don't want to be alone in all this anymore, y'know?

Edit: I posted this when I couldn't sleep due to some anxiety in my life mixed with trying to process everything recently a little more so than I'd prefer. If this isn't the place for this post I do apologize. If this post seems too depressing I apologize as well.

I have no love for my narc father and need advice

Hey all. I won't go into too much detail, but essentially, after years of abuse which resulted in a PTSD diagnosis and other mental health problems, I've come to the conclusion that I don't actually love my father.

And because of that, I'm worried... does it make me less of a person? Am I a bad person for not loving my father?

I'm worried because I have friends with abusive parents who still love their parents a little, because in their opinion "they're still my parents, y'know?" And I'm worried that there's something wrong with me because I don't have love for my father. In fact, I hate him.

Any advice? Am I a bad person for hating my narcissist father?

Moving out of triggering environment, need advice

TW: passing mention of alcoholism

Hey everyone. Just wanted to start by saying that I'm grateful for the nice people who have commented and shared advice in the past posts I've made on this subreddt. Thank you all very much.

Now, I'm going to be moving out into my own apartment in about one month. I'm excited and I cannot wait. I've needed to do this for years anyways, and my recent PTSD diagnosis kind of necessitates it, which I'll elaborate upon now.

I've been living with my mother for almost a decade due to my life falling apart and having to get support from my family. However, my mother has a problem with alcoholism as well as some unresolved mental health issues, and due to unforeseen circumstances (the pandemic being one of them) I ended up staying longer than I ever should have. Without going into too much detail, it was a very triggering environment for me.

I'm very excited to have my own place, but I'm kind of worried about my mental health. I have been seeing a psychologist (hence how I got my diagnosis) and I have some good friends I'm opening up to slowly, but I'm worried about how I'll be living alone, given that I'm leaving the triggering environment and going right into a solo living situation.

Anything I should keep in mind? Any negative experiences that I might have to prepare to go through as I adjust to living alone? Are there any stages of anything I should expect, similar to, say, the 5 stages of grief?

I just don't want this to be a big mistake, and I want this to just make the healing journey a little more possible, even if it isn't easy.

Any information, even if its anecdotal, about the mental component of this would be greatly appreciated.

Advice for living alone?

Hey everyone. 29M Just wanted to see what recommendations people had regarding living alone with PTSD.

But first, some context:

I have an opportunity to leave my mothers place coming up in hopefully about 6-8 months, and I'm excited. I'm doing this so that I can try and heal alone.

I've solved for the logistical issues (money, damage deposit, food etc) I'm just more curious about anything I should consider or keep in mind while living alone with this condition?

Any questions for more context is fine, and any advice is appreciated.

I know its a weird question to ask, but I figured where else could I ask it, y'know?
