On my second rewatch of OTH. Watched it as a teenager and now watching it in my late 20s. I cant sit through Payton's scenes. I dont know if it is the actor or the character writing but it always is a little too whiny and dumb and without substance to me. While she has many qualities as an artist, with her music - her storyline mostly resolves around Lucas (will they wont they) or someone dying/some tragedy. I never look forward to her storyline or scenes because its just depressing. Hilarie Burton's acting is also painful to watch. She never stands up and just does something for herself, shes always the damsel in distress. Its quite annoying.
