RVT Jobs

Hello,
I graduated April 2026. I did my final placement in school at a bovine clinic and it was the dream job. Unfortunately they weren’t hiring so I had to apply to different jobs.
I ended working at a swine veterinary clinic where I was part of the production team and went to various barns. I vaccinated, castrated, worked in sow barns and other things. I really enjoyed it.
Unfortunately my employment was terminated without cause. They just kept saying “it wasn’t the right fit” even tho two weeks prior they told me I was doing an amazing job and they really liked me.
They terminated me AFTER three months.
Whatever I’m not going to get into it.
That was back July 29th.
So since then I’ve been applying to small animal jobs and a few large animal clinics. One LA clinic got back and said they weren’t hiring but would keep my resume for future job opportunities. I’m still waiting to hear back from the swine/bovine practice.

I have a working interview tomorrow at a small animal clinic.
Don’t get me wrong I love small animal medicine but I just don’t feel as passionate about small animal as I do with large animal.
I feel almost guilty that I’m telling these clinics I’m looking to get back into small animal.
I guess I’m just looking for a job in the field until I get the job opportunity I want.

It just feels so wrong to be interviewing for a couple different small animal jobs when I don’t truly want to work there long term.

Would it be beneficial to get a job on a farm while I wait for the opportunity to work at a large animal clinic?

I passed my VTNE so I am registered.
I just fear being out of the industry will be bad because what if in the future I want to get back into small animal?

I’m looking for advice. I’m not really sure about what. Maybe just give your thoughts and advice on whatever you think.
For reference, I’m 21F, I know I’m still young and have my whole life ahead of me but I want a full time job to be able to buy a house and move in with my boyfriend in a few years.
I also want experience.

Wet horn

Shit load of rain and I almost drove through a puddle. Turned around when I realized that it was a big puddle and not a small one. Got my horn wet in the process

Accessory Belt

Hi all,
My accessory belt has chunks missing (not random chunks, but like a line that goes all the way around the belt itself). It’s a bit strange. I’m pretty sure I bought the car that way at 175,000km.
I’m wondering if anyone knows the best way to replace the belt. I just bought a new one.

Cup holders

Not sure this is the right sub for this but anyone know how to fix this???
I truly have no idea what happened. I haven’t driven the car in a week (seized calliper) and just got it fixed today and noticed this.
I also don’t use the cup holder as my yeti doesn’t fit in it

Writing VTNE soon

Hello, I’m scheduled to write the VTNE on June 30th at 1pm.
I’ve been studying an hour or two every day but I’m scared that I’m not retaining the information. I just graduated from tech school so I do have a lot of information still fresh in my mind.
I’ve been using this textbook to help me study along with my notes, the VTNE prep app and Quizlet.
When I study with the book, I highlight a lot which I think helps. I usually do the daily question on the VTNE prep app and a bunch of questions on there and then sometimes I only use Quizlet to study.
I’m wondering if anyone else has some recommendations of things that helped them study for the VTNE.

Split nail

My bostons nails grow so fast and get so long.
Three years ago my Boston broke one of her back toe nails and had to have surgery to get the nail cut and it grew in very strange. Two years ago, it broke again but not to the base so the vet just clipped it for us. Last year it was her dew claw. Didn’t fully break off but it snagged on something so now it grows in kinda curved (I can cut it). Last year, the back foot toe nail broke again but it was fine. This year the toe nail split basically in half. They did a declaw on the toe because it was just causing so many problems
She is 3 days post op. She ended up getting a second dose of fentanyl and a fentanyl patch for the pain. Poor baby. Her toe is still wrapped (changed it yesterday) and she is walking around basically on three legs (tripoding as I call it haha)
I am thankful we got extra pain relief for her as she is back to acting herself and her appetite is back!
Her healing journey has begun! Her name is Winnie ❤️

Male dogs

If your dog has testicles and is obviously old enough to be neutered I’m judging you.
Seriously, get your dog neutered.
