My entire power of will is hanging for its life

My entire power of will is hanging for its life

- Worked blue collar all my life

- always worked out (I do gym and Mixed martial arts)

- Always worked for the minimum (I live in a third world country)

- didn't have a father

- mother emotionally distant

- Constant struggling with alcohol and party girls from 18 to 27 at least

- some how I got an apartment at 28 (part bought, part heritage, too complicated to explain)

- lost my favorite uncle

- Lost my big brother by suicide

- broke up with my last fiance

- "Lost" my job of 8.5 years of experience (I got paid because the firing was without a just cause)

- decided to travel and work in Japan

- get the Visa

- decided to spent twenty days in a foreign country as a vacation until I got my fly and met the love of my life, we instantly connected.

- lost my plane, because we decided to travel together for five months until we get separated. She flew to her country and so I did.

- we still chat

- I had to get another job after two months unemployed because I spent part of my money traveling and I need to buck it up again, even I still have plenty of my savings.

- I decided to encourage myself to go outside and make a life, this time, in France with my special lady.

- I started working and saving, locked full in and ALSO studying and learning french (I already speak English and Spanish) and doing everything I need to go there and do it greatly.

- got to another area in my workplace where my "new boss" is ten years younger than me.

Started to ask myself tf I did in ten years. Even though I had the craziest of experiences, believe me, I feel like I passed ten years of my life in an instant and the view was very short honestly.

I need to keep locked in, and do everything, not only to reunite with my girl, but for myself, and to keep growing as a man and as a professional. But damn, this was a low hit. And boss isn't even awful or anything bad, the guy rocks but it's amazing how.... I don't know how to end this post... I feel depleted.

Help bros.

I got employed!

Hi everyone, I'm the blue collar replicant skin job from this post:

(Sorry I cannot upload any link so it's going to be in the comments)

If anyone remembers me, yes, I just got a Job last Thursday as a tech in an industrial plant that makes elevators.

It was for me, (luckily) just two months looking actively for a job since my last one in January and my traveling.

You can go to the other post to see how my unemployed routine was, and I can say the key to get your head out of the mud is: CONSISTENCY AND DISCIPLINE.

Things that I absolutely avoided in this time:

- Doomscrolling reels on any platform, mostly Instagram and YouTube (I don't have TikTok and I will never). For YouTube, I started unsubscribe from trash channels like "escape the backrooms this, this new horror game sucks, this new horror game rocks" because let's be real, it's all slop nowadays.

  • I quit smoking early this year, and quite solo drinking forever. It's the worst that can do to yourself specially alone, at these times.

- I never watched porn, you never, ever, think of doing it.

- deleted Tinder, if I don't have a job, I don't have time nor resources to waste on soulless encounters.

- I never went to bed unless I already studied, read my book or write in a journal.

- my job hunting was 2 to 3 hours a day, not less, not more.

- I enjoy doing nothing, sitting with a coffee in the morning sun, taking a walk with my dog, and going to visit a friend.

- Sundays where the days I needed the most to rest (go to church, enjoy a meal with my mom, sleep countless hours and watch movies, and maybe, doing some reparations in my house)

- Exercise daily, at least five times a week (bike rides and heavy lifting with my dumbbells and push-ups)

- Didn't watch any doomer content, it's just, I mean, it doesn't make sense. You have an open wound and you are pouring salt into it.

- believing in myself, in what people that loves me want for me, and that's to be happy. Everything passes.

- having my goals right in front of me, all the time. For me, it is going to Europe and reunite with my friends and grow as a professional next year, therefore, I need a job to make the savings as I should.

- enjoy the time to treat yourself. Long baths, good sleep, meditation, write a journal, paint, draw, fix something that you have broken since ages.

Be grateful, and believe in yourself. You got this.

Got laid off at the beginning of this year, here's my routine to keep sanity

First of all, thanks to all of you for taking a moment to read this.

I got laid off at the beginning of the year, almost nine years in the company because of restructuring. The truth is, they don't want people to become too old, sadly.

So, I gave literally 0 fucks, and did a backpacking adventure of almost five months. Had the time of my life for real.

Now, I just came home last month, it's going to be two months in on job hunting.

I made a daily routine that I try to get complete, each day, six days a week except Sundays, where I allow myself just to exist and rest, specially on my mind. Gotta say also, Saturday afternoons and Sundays you have like 0 jobs listings so it's almost stupid to burn yourself out looking for jobs a Sunday at five pm.

Also, I'm posting this to get feedback, Reddit is a great tool to use accordingly and I love there's plenty of real people sharing their experiences and give a hand on each other.

So, this is my daily routine:

7.30 am: Wake up - brush my teeth - clean my face - prepare breakfast and do a little cleaning of my apartment (I have a dog that sleeps inside as she should)

8.00 am: French Lessons - 1st coffee

08:30 am to 10:30 am: job hunting

10:45 am to 11:45 am: 15-18km cycling 🚲 exercise (I live in those "endless suburbia type of neighborhoods so is really easy to do a regular path with my bicycle)

12 am: Lunch

13 pm: Reading (Going in my second book, currently reading Crime and Punishment, not the best book to read unemployed tbh)

14 pm: Siesta time (sleeping one hour, not more)

15 pm: Studying (Basic Electronics currently)

16 pm: Job Hunting (again)

17 pm: Free time doing absolutely nothing. Whatever it comes my mind, it's made. Fixing something, cleaning my bicycle or my bike, play with my dog, listen to music, etc.

18 pm: weightlifting (I have a improvised home gym so I do 45 minutes while hearing music or watching some YouTube videos)

19 pm to 23 pm: Existing. If I want to keep studying, I do it, if I feel to keep searching for jobs, I do it, if I want to play Skyrim or Stalker 2, I do it. If I want to see some Bladerunner movie and be on Tinder getting absolute 0 matches, I do it.

It's not easy, but not having a routine will destroy you slowly but surely. What do you guys think?

Also, on Saturdays I tend to stick to the routine only to lunch time and after that, just fuck it, play videogames, go for a couple beers, play football or just meditating and sleeping feels good, also, I'm an Orthodox so I like to get some minutes of my week dedicated to God.

Since now I had between 1 to 2 job offerings per week, some jobs I had 2 to 3 interviews but looks like they finally decide to choose another guy or something. Shit happens, we need to keep trying.

To do a little bit of context, I'm a 30yo mechanic and electrician with almost 9 years of experience. I'm also C1 in English because, as you may see, I'm not an English native speaker but in my early years as an adult I went to the Highlands and traveled the UK so that's why I can speak and write fluently. (Still making mistakes lol). Here the job market is awful and I have an apartment to keep so I'm searching almost in any field now lol.

You are going to do a six month backpacking adventure across the Balkans, what do you take with you in your bag?

I'm planning an entire Balkans backpacking trip, planning to start over in Zagreb and ending in... Well, Zagreb, after doing all Balkans countries, Romania and Bulgary. Hostels, cheap street food, maybe a little bit of camping and of course, hitchhiking. I need your advice friends, especially about travel gear. Everything is welcome, the good and the bad.
