First Party Punch!
Never made a punch before, but it was a lot of fun and went over well.
Happy Fourth!

Just adopted this well-behaved gentleman. Any advice for first-time Poodle owners would be most welcome! (And, any tips for introducing a dog into a “cat home”).
Ahoy!
I’m a 5’8”, 32 yo male with decent muscle mass and cardio fitness. Back in January I started using MacroFactor to begin a steady cut. It was pretty successful, in my opinion, but I didn’t take my body fat incredibly low. I hit maintenance in April, and tried starting a lean bulk in late April until the present.
However, I just got back from a week of vacation and am feeling a tad softer than I would like - I can already tell I’ve lost a bit of leanness. The weight trend over the past week or so isn’t very informative, nor is the TDEE, as I didn’t log food or weight for the past 8 or 9 days.
For context, I am a teacher - and teaching+coaching+lifting kept my TDEE pretty high. Now that summer’s here, I think that MF has been inflating my TDEE. I still workout and do cardio, but I’m not nearly as active throughout the day as I am when school is in session.
We head out for a second vacation the last full week of July. Between now and then, I’d like to shave off a few pounds and try the lean bulk again - with more discipline - once school starts back up.
Do you think there would be any adverse metabolic or muscular effects if I began a mini-cut for the next few weeks? Say, dropping my lean bulk caloric intake of roughly 3,300 to 2,500?
Thanks in advance!
Hey y'all,
Last night I made my wife a daquiri with 2 oz of Real McCoy 3 Year - a delicious, balanced, smooth daquiri.
Then, I made myself a daquiri with 2 oz of Smith & Cross. Man! That thing smacked me in the mouth . . . Delicious!
Question: Do you have a favorite or recommended daquiri spec for a more "aggressive" or flavorful daquiri? I saw someone recommend an OFTD daquiri elsewhere . . . I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Hey y'all,
After a brief search on this forum, it seems like the recipe that came with my Tiki mug is NOT standard Tiki spec when it comes to the Pieces of Eight.
Has anyone ever had a spec like this? Is it heresy?
Appreciate your thoughts!
Update: I made the drink! I subbed Apricot Giffard for the peach and used Velvet Falernum.
The drink was tasty, but a bit too "soft" and sweet for my palette. I like a more aggressive, or at least rum-forward, cocktail.
Anniversary date night! This was our second time here. Wonderful drinks, and the food was pretty tasty.
Round 1: Jet Pilot & Jade Milk Punch
Round 2: Crocodile Dunder & Nuclear Daiquiri
Round 3: Rum King & Reef Locker
Dessert: Treasure Trove (Demerara rum, port, cacao)
Edit: I think my favorite was the Crocodile Dunder - heavy Jamaican and molasses notes with some beautiful apricot. I should have asked for the specs!
Hey y'all,
Quick question:
Do you, and/or should you, add black tea to a Planter's Punch?
I've seen that the most popular recipe on here is a variation of the Remsberg:
3 oz Rum
1 oz Lime
.75 oz Simple
3 dashes Bitters
However, the recipe in "Potions of the Caribbean" calls for:
2 oz Rum
1.5 oz Black Tea
1 oz Lime
1/2 oz Sugar
After scouring for recipes and feeling torn, last night I decided to make my first Planter's Punch *ever* and went with:
3 oz Rum (*split between Meyers's and Appleton because the Coruba is still on the way*)
1.5 oz Black Tea
.75 oz Lime Juice
.75 oz Rich Simple
3 dashes Angostura
That thing was delicious, but a tad weak for my palette (but on a hot day, it would be lovely). The tea adds so much to the drink that I wasn't expecting.
Tonight I think I'm going to try:
3 oz Rum
1 oz Tea
1 oz Lime
.75 oz Rich Simple (maybe a full ounce)
Angostura
So, do y'all ever use tea in your PPs? 😉 If so, have ye any tips/advice?
