NYU CAS For IB / Masters

I’m looking to transfer to NYU CAS sophomore fall and I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on my plan/let me know if it’s feasible.

  1. I’m going pursue a joint major in either Econ/Math or Econ/Data Science with a stern minor. I know there’s a cap of like 6 stern classes for non-stern kids, but there’s a way to petition for more, so I would definitely try that as well.

  2. Joining the best possible stern clubs that are available to me and truly taking them seriously. I know that some are practically stern-only, but I would take advantage of the ones more accessible.

  3. I’ll start networking as soon as I get to NYC. I’ll try to get as many coffee chats as possible/try to connect with as many bankers as possible. I will also attend as many networking events as possible. However, I know it is much harder to get responses as a CAS student, so if anyone has any advice on that pls comment/dm

  4. I will thoroughly self learn all the technicals. Most likely I’d use resources like BIWS and WSP red/blue books, and I would try to do as many mock interviews as possible. Also, I will read the WSJ daily.

  5. I’ll try to get IB-relevant internships as soon as sophomore year summer. Again, if anyone has specific advice on this please let me know.

  6. If all fails and I don’t get a good IB offer, I’d probably go for a MSF program (Vanderbilt, Emory, UT Austin, etc)

Thank you for your time and i would highly appreciate any advice.

Columbia GS

Hello

Is this a valid reason to be considered a “non traditional” applicant for columbias GS

I didn’t take a gap year or anything but I truly need to do part time for next year.

Currently I am full time at a decent private 4yr, but because of family caregiving responsibilities I need to do part time next year. Everything is highly and well documented including by third party sources from the reasons I was able to do full time this year (my brother was with him for context) and specifically why I need a part time schedule next year

I’m looking into transferring into Pitzer for sophomore fall entry

And I was wondering if I was able to pursue Claremont mckennas Economics-Accounting major with financial economics sequence while not being a full CMC student

Assuming I have the pre reqs done with high grades and willing to do an extra semester if necessary
