Looking for someone who could tell me a thing or two about my M1897

This Winchester M1897 is my first firearm, i have always been captivated by historical weapons and this was at the top of my list. It’s got some interesting stampings, a pretty modern replacement stock, and i was wondering if anyone here would be able to tell me more about this weapon’s history, or could point me to a resource. As far as I have been able to figure out is that the receiver was made in Jan. 1918, but I’m not entirely sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Quick drawing I did at work while listening to “My Property isn’t Normal”

I could not get this image out of my head of Hunter in the place of our main character. Haven’t drawn for years so it’s not the best, but hopefully the idea comes across.

CnD AdSep Questions

I just got off the phone with my provider and they have just told me they are formally requesting my CnD separation. I just had some questions if anyone has experience with this.
I have been in for a little over 3 and a half years. I am a MMN2 and it was discovered while on my ship that I have a severe nickel allergy and have been removed from the plant since May of 25 and have been on LIMDU since 30Dec25.
The biggest thing I am worried about is having to repay close to $100,000 dollars in bonus money and was wondering if anyone here has submitted a Waiver or Remission of Indebtedness, and if I would even get it approved.
Any insight on the CnD process would help greatly appreciated, I just want to know what I should expect and what, if anything, I can do to prepare.
Thank you
