Got a repeat client? Give them your number, ASAP.

LIsten, taskers, anyone with half a brain knows by now that our days are numbered on this app - especially if you're decent, hardworking, and above all, long-term (you've been on TR for over a year). TR will find a way to get rid of you, one way or another. I've personally known those it has happened to and you can read countless stories in this forum from others. You will be lucky if you get any explanation at all. Generally, the reason will be some vague "policy violation" that is never specified. Why do they do this? We don't know, definitively. Some have suggested the reason is to make room for fresh faces and to keep prices competitively low. Who knows? But what we do know, definitively, is that they will eventually get rid of us. So, if you have that repeat client that you've developed a solid rapport with, give them your contact info NOW. Make that connection before you try to log in to TR one morning and you've been axed. Don't wait. Do it (cautiously, of course) with as many clients as you possibly can. We all know what's up now and we're not going to take it lying down.

I've started asking myself one question when assessing the value of a relationship - "Would this person attend my funeral."

When my mom passed away a few years ago, her closest friend when I was a child didn't attend her funeral. This is someone she shared so much of her life with - they worked together, her friend's child and I were friends, and they even shared some intimacy.. And it really made me think.

I've started asking myself one question when assessing the value of a relationship - "Would this person attend my funeral?" If they live within 100 miles, and I've determined the answer is likely no, then that's not a very close relationship and I realign my energy accordingly.

Keep tabs on your cancellation fees.

I had a job that most definitely qualified for a cancellation fee - she canceled within 1.5 hr of the job appt. I receive notification on the app that this job did not qualify for a cancellation fee with no elaboration. This did not make sense to me since Task Rabbit clearly states a job is subject to this fee if A) The task was canceled by the client within 24 hrs of the scheduled appt or B) The client is unresponsive. I called TR support, the agent confirmed that the job did qualify for this fee, and it should be applied to my account soon. I was told the system is automated and doesn't always apply the fees properly. Keep an eye on your earnings.
