Hi friends-
It has been a couple of years since I’ve flown internationally with UA/Star Alliance gold status. Wifey and I are on Swiss to Zurich from the States tomorrow evening. Economy tickets. Will we have access to the Swiss lounge as we await our departure? TIA and safe travels
My son started his apprenticeship in June. He’s enjoying it and learning so much. It’s all good.
I was rather surprised to learn that Labor Day is not a paid holiday given its origins/intent.
Is this typical? Are there any paid holidays?
Picked up CPAP last Thursday. Bride says she cannot believe how much better she and I are sleeping.
She took me out for a birthday breakfast this morning and I observed that we each cut our servings in half before digging in. Spent a few minutes discussing the relative merits of various types of to-go containers as we waited on our bill. Cuz she’s a cool cat, bride paid via QR code.
After breakfast took a 3 mile stroll together around a nearby nature reserve. Returned home, did a little yard work and spent an hour reading on the deck.
Tons of text messages from folks near and far.
Youngest, who lives in town, coming over for dinner and my favorite dessert (boy brownies—which means they have walnuts mixed in—and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream).
Not a bad day of me. Hoping for many happy returns.
Hi neighbors! Our 20 year old son is working for Van Ert on the Sentry headquarters renovation. Multi year project. Looking for a reasonably priced studio or one bedroom. Ready to move anytime. TIA
Push folks to achieve ABD (“all but dissertation”) status in four years & they depart the States to write/complete? Just thinking out loud here…
It’s a lovely evening @ Pfiffner. Opening band is delightful. Do wish the organizers would insist food trucks run on battery as the gas generator is kinda ruining the vibe…
Heard some great music, enjoyed some excellent people watching. Drone show was cool and the fireworks were spot on! Thanks for a great weekend neighbors!
Picked up a Hyundai Tucson from National earlier today. Photo is of the key fob provided. Just wondering if this is original equipment or a dupe?
Just dropped bags at my regional airport and counter agent noted my international segment out of IAD is oversold. I’m transiting ORD en route. Should I make inquiries there or wait until I get to DC? Arrival day abroad is unscheduled and I don’t have any reason to be there by any particular time. Open to volunteering for a reroute, etc. TIA
