Physically disabled & frail elderly people shouldn't buy high energy dogs

50% of the dogs in my country are underwaked, this isnt rare or exclusive to the disabled but they play a part, specially old people

Someone who cant walk up the stairs without getting out of breath, buying a Husky, a collie, or a Malinios puppy

Seeing these fat huskies, fat Spring spaniels, developing limps and hip problems, because their owners cant adequately walk them. These dogs and many more breeds need atleast an hour every day, without fail

Frail 80+ year old owners, owners who cant walk at all, wtf are you buying them?

Buy a fucking cat

Great, If you can afford daycare everyday or dog walkers thats fine, but ffs, why did you have to choose a dog like a Mali who requires 3 hours walking a day if you cant walk 30 feet yourself

My first underground horde base

Its not perfect but im kinda happy how it looks and it works

So, the idea is, they fall into a 8 block hole and they face plant into the floor below. Theyre happy to do that apparently.

It gives me enough time to shoot them before they stand up again, its brutally effective.

To improve sight, I also added a slight incline to the floor where they drop in, makes them alightly easier to see on the floor.

9 deep, 16 length, 5 width. No digging problems if you use a lot of concrete

My horde base

My little horde base 🧡

Nothings gotten in yet ☠️ game stage 980

Its mostly triple thickness concrete, a little steel at the front. No traps or lecky, the garage doors act more like walls with cool windows (and 30k health!)

I'm an atheist. This week, I fired a Christian because of her religious beliefs. AITA?

Bit of a weird one.

I run a small training business, so teaching students is literally the whole job.

I hired a Jehovah's Witness who, after starting, told me she couldn't teach male students because of her religious beliefs. She knew the role involved teaching both men and women but never mentioned it during the interview.

Some weeks in, we have an all-male group, and she was one of only two tutors. In that situation she was basically unable to do her job.

I didn't have an issue with her religion

The issue was that she couldn't carry out a core part of the role and there wasnt a way for me to accommodate

AITA?

Edit: legally, I didnt mention religion when I fired her, I kept my langauge deliberately vague, only that she wasnt suited to the role. She only lasted a month

Edit: TIL JWs arent considered Christian

Edit: she told me a month in she wasn't "permitted" to teach men with her beleifs, I dont know much about JWs so I didnt question her

FYI: we dont "reject" Jesus, we just cant believe in him. Its not opinional, we do not control it

There seems to be this ongoing idea that non-believers consciously decide not to follow Jesus

Belief is not opinional

You cannot decide to believe or disbelieve anything

Your brain either accepts something or cant accept something

A Christian cannot magically switch their brain to believe in Hinduism just because they'd like to, this is not how brains work

Why do Christians still use the word "Reject"?

I dont think Christians do it maliciously, it seems like a concept theyve just never really thought about

Has anyone ever met a YEC (young earther) who actually understood evolution?

Every single YEC ive met, believes they understand evolution

Not a single one could present evolution as it actually is.

Instead we get a cartoonish sunday school version, designed to strawman the science

They run off a script:

"Evolution says humans came from monkeys."

"Evolution is just random chance."

"No new information can arise."

"It's only a theory."

Confusing evolution with the origin of life (abiogenesis).

Expecting individual animals to suddenly change into another species

You can tell immediately they dont understand evolution because of how they present arguments

Even the big YEC youtubers dont get it

Has anyone ever spoke to a young earther who could explain what evolution is and how it works?

Why are so many Christians comfortable calling non-Christians Satan worshippers?

Genuine question.

Why is this attitude tolerated by so many other Christians?

In the last 24 hours alone I've seen Christians say:

• Muslims follow a religion "sent by Satan"

• Anyone who doesn't accept Christ is a "Satan worshipper"

• Liberals, feminists and LGBT people are enemies of Christianity

I've heard similar things from preachers too. Outsiders are called satanic, immigrants are blamed for society's problems, LGBT people are treated as threats, and people of other faiths are often spoken about with open contempt.

I know it's not all Christians. Quakers, Universalists and plenty of others seem genuinely kind and welcoming.

What I don't understand is why there seems to be so little pushback from other Christians when this stuff is said.

If Christianity is supposed to be about loving your neighbour, the Good Samaritan, humility and forgiveness, why does so much of the public-facing version end up looking like tribalism?

What am I missing?

Top 20 1980s horror

Ive not included Aliens or Predator, their vibe is more actions than horror.

Same with critters, gremlins abd the gate, as they feel more like messed up kids movies

Honorable mention: The Entity, texas chainsaw massacre 2, friday 13th part 4, fright night, Vamp, hellnight, Puppet master 2, hellraiser 1 & 2, waxwork, from beyond and all the Fulci movies

Yeah i know Maximum Overdorve is a load of shit, but i fricking love it, awesome soundtrack and that cool goblin truck is badass

Honestly, not because I think there’s amazing evidence for God. I don’t (sorry). Ive found most religious arguments fall apart a bit once you really dig into them.

But I do think Christianity is very good at giving people:

• community

• belonging

• structure

• support

• identity

• hope when life gets rough (and it will)

I don’t really believe humans need some objective cosmic meaning handed down to us. I think we can create our own meaning.

But I do think people need connection, purpose, routine and other people around them. And religion has been doing that successfully for thousands of years.

So the best argument for Christianity to me has never been “it’s scientifically true”.

It’s more: “this genuinely made my life better"

Showing athiests how your life is better as a Christian, is way more convincing to an athiest than abstract philosophy or endless Reddit debates will ever be

Salt water covered the whole planet. Plants love salted earth, great for farming

Freshwater fish survived the oceans, very doable

Trees and plants sat underwater for a year, then came back like nothing happened. Tough bunch.

Eight people looked after every animal on Earth for a year, which was easy

One wooden boat held animals from every continent plus enough food and fresh water for all of them. Not difficult.

Kangaroos got back to Australia, polar bears back north, penguins back south. They had a map each

Koalas crossed the world while only eating one specific leaf. Big respect.

Lions, wolves and bears all decided not to eat anything next to them. Very disciplined creatures

Every civilisation who recorded history on Earth somehow forgot the year the entire planet drowned. Slipped everyone’s mind.

There’s no obvious worldwide flood evidence because floods are famously known for leaving no trace.

One family repopulated the whole world, and nobody found that genetically problematic

Enough water to cover entire mountains can easily vanish!

Conclusion:

Makes loads of sense if you never think about it for more than ten seconds.

Cheers btw for bringing mosquitos and every disease on board, thanks!
