Confused by billing

Sometime hostel-goer here but I'm confused by a booking I've just made on hostel world and looking for clarity as their support has been slow to respond. I think the mix of currency is also confusing me.

The total for the room is $866. I've paid online £126.10. Payable to the property is $863.84 then there are also taxes of $153.72 (payable at the property)

Basically I'm confused why the payable to the property is only $3 less than the total for the room even after factoring in what I've already paid. Am I misreading this horribly?

T1D Rant - Tired and want to give up

Particularly aimed at fellow T1Ds, I'm a 26M with T1D for the last 14 years. How do you come to terms with the fact you're stuck with this curse for the rest of your life?

I've went through the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance so many times I've lost track. I constantly loathe the fact that frankly I am cursed with this disease for the rest of my life, that I'm playing life on hard-mode without a choice.

I hate that ultimately this disease will kill me. I hate that its the first and last thing I think about during the day. I hate that its killed the spontaneity in my life. I hate that one day a simple walk will tank my glucose and then the next day not do anything. I hate that I can't exercise without walking the tightrope of avoiding lows. I hate that losing weight is a battle because one hypo wipes out a chunk of your calorie allowance. I hate that a simple cold can wreck you.

I hate that this disease impacts every corner of my life, those without diabetes dont understand its omnipotence and frankly some of the don't-worry-be-happy attitude amongst diabetics fills me with rage, how can you be happy when you're weighed down by this?

Does anyone have any words of wisdom, I needed to rant but I really want someone to tell me it'll be better even though I know it wont.

Which characters are making it to the 21st century?

Inspired by the post about whether Don would make it to see Shrek come out in 2001. Which characters are making it alive to the 21st century?

Sally seems a lock-in.

Practicing Short Game in Parks?

I live in London and the nearest course is some distance away which makes it really inconvenient to go to to practice. Whats the rules / etiquette of going to a park and practicing my short game? I'm talking the tiniest of chips and pitches <25 yards to a target. Is the local council going to kick up a fuss? I work odd hours so I'd be doing it at times when the park is likely to be quiet like 2pm on a Tuesday for example.

Pleased with progress but still trying to quit at every turn

Hi folks looking for some guidance - I've been on my weight-loss journey from around 100kg and I'm sitting at around 68kg, its taken me just over a year.

I've noticed the obvious results in physique and confidence however this has in no-way made me enjoy exercising or eating healthy, quite the opposite in fact. Every day feels a bit of a battle to convince myself to eat healthy and exercise, recently the lapses have become much more common where aim eating over my calorie limit or skipping workouts.

I actively loathe the gym or any type of exercise and from the moment I'm walking to the gym I'm trying to find excuses in my head to quit and go home. I recently took a short break from the gym and tracking my eating (1 week) for a holiday and I have no desire to resume it despite liking the results.

Is there any words of advice on how to power-on and come to actually enjoying the gym and tracking?

Cancelling purchase for same flight now on sale

Hi all,

Does BA have any weirdness about cancelling a flight I've booked with them in September now that the same route (LHR-SFO) is significantly cheaper (looking at >£100 saving) due to the original sale that's ongoing?

I'm kind of internally smouldering at missing out on the extra saving.
