Ice cave reviews

Hi all! I am looking for experiences with the ice cave slime at og slimes. I usually would look at the reviews on their website, but it doesn’t appear to be popping up. Curious about people’s thoughts on the scent and how much the lava rocks hurt or if they’re well coated in the slime. I already see it’s delightfully crunchy which is wonderful.

Unique situation planning SSDI credits with a newly discovered, guaranteed genetic disease

Hi all! Extremely wild and multifaceted situation here and I am in shock. I am in my late 20s, and I recently reconnected with my biological father, just before his death from Huntington’s disease. Having never met him or known his identity prior to this, I had no idea that he had Huntington’s.

Children of a parent with Huntington’s have a 50% chance of having the gene, and having the full gene means you have an 100% chance of getting Huntington’s. After getting tested, I found out I do have the gene. With a typical onset in the 30s or 40s, Huntington’s first severely disables you for 10-30 years before ultimately killing you. Needless to say, it is an indescribably awful feeling to go from presumably healthy to knowing how I will die and that it will likely be relatively early and painful.

Not knowing exactly how many years I have left, I want to make sure that I make myself as comfortable as possible for the years when I have this disease and am disabled by it. Once the disease sets in and it’s progressed, I will not be able to work.

I have family and friends who love me, but none are rich enough to completely fund my life and quit their jobs to care for me 24/7. So I will need money. Here’s where the twist comes in. I do have savings and an emergency fund, but I don’t have enough, already in my late 20s and having no idea til now that I am going to get Huntington’s, to sustain me for potentially 30 years of being fully unable to work.

I worked for 6 years after college and so I think I have SSDI credits from that, but I am now in a funded PhD program and while I earn a stipend and also work as a TA, I just read that earnings as a PhD student don’t count toward SSDI for some legal reason, and I am panicking. I don’t want to drop out of my program that I love, especially when I might have limited time to live. But is there any way to earn credits? Taking on a second job? Is there anything I can do? This situation sucks and is pretty unique and I’d love to hear from anyone who relates to any aspect of it even if not all.

Can anybody recommend an over the counter steroid ointment or other soothing topical to use after a yeast infection with minimal additives?

Hey all, can anyone recommend a basic (not a lot of additives, def no fragrance or propylene glycol) over the counter hydrocortisone or other simple steroid ointment to be used for a few days after a yeast infection? Or does anyone have any other advice for soothing the skin after a yeast infection when you have a history of vulvodynia?

I have successfully cured the actual infection with prescribed Diflucan. But with my history of vulvodynia and my propylene glycol allergy and fragrance snd glycerin sensitivities, I am unable to use the OTC hydrocortisone topical to soothe my skin that the doctor says she’d usually provide. Before I try to figure out an expensive compounded topical that would need to be prescription only and shipped to me, I wanted to ask here. I don’t need anything prescription strength; just a SIMPLE steroid or other soothing ointment to use for a few days under a doctor’s supervision post yeast infection to soothe any remaining itching and irritation that doesn’t have a billion extra ingredients. It seems so hard to come by SIMPLY. I prefer petroleum jelly based ointments to creams as they usually irritate me less but give me all your ideas.

To answer a few questions in case they come up: yes I’ve asked my doctor if they know of anything, yes im doing this under their supervision and if I use a steroid I’ll only use it for a few days as recommended by them, yes I’ve seen every vulvar specialist who exists lol, no I don’t need advice about pelvic floor therapy, no I don’t have chronic or complex yeast infections, this is my second ever.

What do I tell my friends (inheritance + rent situation)

Hi all, I (31M) grew up lower middle class, but with a complex financial background, which my friends know but not in great detail. Neither of my parents owned property, and one was briefly homeless.

I recently inherited several hundred thousand dollars from a member of my extended family. I now have a stable passive income of 1800 a month (I may create a more diversified investment portfolio soon, but I am proceeding with caution and focusing on HYSA and betterment accounts while I mourn the loss).

I am extremely grateful for this windfall. It couldn’t come at a better time. I have had a horrible year, but recently went back to school for something I love. While I am on a full scholarship and also working while in school, my own income is now below average for my area, whereas previously I made about an exactly average income for several years.

Because of my windfall, I was able to move out of my unhealthy roommate situation and live on my own for the first time. I am not touching the principal of my inheritance, but I am subsidizing my rent with about 700 dollars of the 1800 interest a month, and leaving the rest invested. I know lifestyle creep is real, but my previous situation was so unhealthy it made me physically ill, and I am viewing this year of healing as an investment in my future self. My apt is still pretty bare bones with limited amenities and far below market rate for my area, and I got it (again very luckily) through connections I have from work. I have no debt due to attending college on scholarships.

My question is, what do I tell my friends and dates? Almost immediately, friends have begun asking how I am affording the apt and what the rent is. If I tell them the truth, I go against the wishes of the executor of my extended family member’s estate, who told me to never tell anyone about this until I marry them. If I clam up and refuse to tell, I’m worried the stonewalling will emotionally harm my relationships, and my friends could somehow find out anyway through googling detailed info about the building and finding similar apartments. If I just say I got a good deal because I know the owner, that’s true but incomplete and could come out later. And for romantic partners, I’m certainly not marrying anyone soon, but I don’t want to come off as dodgy or dishonest when eventually I’ll have to share my financial situation w a spouse anyway, or as bad with money.

Thoughts? Yes I am aware this is a very privileged position to be in, and am very grateful.

I have adhd and I’m scared I am going to get addicted to slime

I discovered slime about a year ago and it has been absolutely amazing for my adhd. It’s so dopamine inducing, soothing, and emotionally regulating, and it keeps me from getting distracted when working. I finished all of my finals on time thanks to slime, and am making lots of emotional progress in therapy while using it!

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to not go overboard, though? I am a graduate student on a limited budget and I find myself tempted to buy slime every month lol.

I have now gone about two months successfully without buying it but it tempts me every day. I have about 10 slimes currently (I’ve bought at least 20 since I started playing with slime, but some of the ones I bought a year or so ago have died) and that is plentyyyy to play with, especially as eventually they will go bad and I don’t want to struggle to play w all of them before they go bad. Also I know many of us have many more slimes and this is no shade to those who do. It’s just that many of you probably have a better income than I do!! So proportionally I should not b buying so much slime.

I find that it’s hard not to buy bc of two specific reasons — first, restocks are limited, so I can’t always use a wait and see strategy before buying. And second, I often find that my brain craves a variety of slime — my favorite textures are thick, icee, and then something crunchy, like crushed silica. If I don’t have at least one of those at all times, I crave buying a new one to have a complete rotation. Also, I crave having a variety of colors and scents (though i lean toward clean and chemical scents and blue colors).

I do have a family history of addiction (drugs and alcohol) and I luckily have no actual addictions myself. But I’m scared this is how the gene will express itself and I have a lot of financial trauma from my childhood due to my parents struggling to regulate themselves and their lives that I do not want to repeat. I have more money than my parent does now, which isn’t saying a lot, but I also have lots of other expenses like good food, therapy, rent etc that keep me housed and regulated.

Recent experiences masking in Athens, Greece?

Long story short, I am going to need to get my hair cut and possibly another beauty service like eyebrow threading in Athens, Greece. I am wondering about how masking will be received specifically during a service like this. If anyone has any specific recs for places to go that will be chill to me about it, let me know!

Can someone speak to the smell of pilot slime’s sidewalk chalk?!

Considering buying and I am torn! I love ground pumice so that’s a major draw. I love the scents described on her website (ozone, wet concrete, rain) but I wanna make sure it actually smells smth like those things. I don’t like sweet smells. I like chemical and weird ones lol. I have a strong sense of smell, so I am able to detect complex scent notes (in case that is relevant). Thanks!!!

Edenic lesbian books

This might be a crazy long shot, but does anyone have any recommendations for garden of Eden-like books (ideally rich with lush description of the gardens, cause I love beautiful writing) that in some way re envision Eden / the Adam and Eve story as lesbian?? I realize this is like the most heterosexually canonical thing ever to ask for a lesbian equivalent of but worth a shot, interpret as you will!
