A wizard gets "a small magical pet" in equipment. My DM says "It doesn't say familiar, so it can't follow commands or do things."

What is this? Why doesn't it say familiar? I think it's because daggerheart is entry level, and they don't expect "familiar" to be a word players are ~familiar~ with. There is no domain card that gives a familiar either. DM thinks it is just fluff that doesn't do anything.

Do you rule it as a familiar or as a nothing? Please don't say "it's up for interpretation" because my DM is incapable of thinking outside the box and only says "that's not what the book says."

Edit: I wanted it to go flip a switch. Dm said it didn't know how to follow commands like that.

Edit: It turns out that familiars do exist, but wizards don't get access to them. That was my mistake for making that assumption.

Edit: I apologize for my frustrated tone when talking about my dm. That stems from a larger problem that has nothing to do with wizard equipment or accepting dm rulings.

All light hurts my eyes. Lesser and greater. Optometrist says nothings wrong with the eyes, so it's neurological. What do I do?

I can hardly read anything without glasses and have terrible dark vision, so sunglasses may not work. Are they the only solution? Also, what pain pill works the best for neurological pain, I never take pain pills due to a medical accident a few years back but I need to start.

Can anyone recommend a scalp goop so I can brush my hair without losing my mind?

I've begun to grow my hair out, it is extremely curly and it's hard to keep up with. My self-image is fucked and the new hair has been helping with that, but I haven't built the habit of brushing every day yet and it's gotten matted. The pain spiral has begun to curl, and I have enough money for a cheap solution. Are any of the lidocaine creams online worth anything?

Howdy, Low-Salt Divers, I have a question that needs a chill answer.

I was wondering if there have been any undocumented changes found this patch. I could ask the other communities, but, well, we can guess where that'll end. Anything found? Bugs, known issues, full-on changes? I'd love to hear from people who can be chill.

Are you every allowed to do more than one thing per turn (besides move)?

Some actions seem extremely minor. It seems like they were built to be "bonus actions" especially the ones that don't involve a roll.

I come back home and all my pets are damaged. Why?

No attacks, base is very secure, some are in closed off rooms, yet they all have damage. Good for grinding first aid, I guess, but it's still concerning.

Are they starving? I've been told they shouldn't. Is it some kind of bug?

Can someone walk me through getting a pet? Can I get one without honey?

I reached the hydroplant two updates ago and stopped playing. The slop articles online are contradicting each other. Do I need to make a stun baton?

Especially against these spore strain buggers that just run right up. "Positioning" ain't helping, any distance they can path to is covered in record time and any position they can't get to at all bounces (that I've found). I tried gas grenades to cover them in a cloud, but that didn't seem to confuse them, and dissolved my turret :/ Is there a strat I'm missing? I haven't tried smoke or lure mines yet.
