Low output impedance headphones for solo 3rd GEN or 4th GEN
Hey everyone, I’m planning to pick up a Scarlett Solo to pair with a set of 35-ohm headphones for tracking electric guitar. I noticed on the official spec sheets that the 4th Gen line has a whopping 50Ω headphone output impedance, whereas the 3rd Gen sits at <1Ω. Following the "Rule of Eighths" for a proper damping factor, a 50Ω output on the 4th Gen seems like a massive mismatch for 35Ω headphones, which would completely mess with the low-end frequency response and cause distortion. Meanwhile, the 3rd Gen's near-zero impedance looks perfect for low-impedance gear. Am I missing something here, or is the 3rd Gen actually the much better buy if I want a flat, accurate mix with low-impedance headphones?
Edit: The headphones in question are the Audio Technica ATH-M40x's,
the reason I'm concerned about this is because Julian Krause seems to mention output impedance a lot
