Annual plan

Does Chatr ever discount the annual plan during Black Friday or holiday sales? Thinking about getting the annual plan for $159 as I need a second line for infrequent use. Thought about the $19 talk and text but the annual plan works out cheaper per month.

Ottawa Rideau Centre

Anyone else experience zero reception in the Rideau Centre? My phone went to SOS. Not great when I was trying to pull up some information.
Elsewhere in Ottawa service has been pretty good…..LTE, 5G, 5G+, on a recent test I got 455up and 11 down.

Rogers RPP question

I’ve been planning to leave Rogers and then discovered I’m eligible for an RPP, so checking that out first. The plan is $55 and after discounts will be $40. The discount is for two years and I have to get a cheap phone with it, which is effectively $0 after the monthly promo is applied. Probably sell the phone as I don’t need it. I saw the paperwork from a friend with the plan….the phone is $0 and I noticed the phone plan shows month to month with the auto pay and the promo discount applied….
My question is, if the plan is month to month, doesn’t that mean they can raise the base price of the plan? But I’m tied to the plan to qualify for the phone subsidy for 24 months.
My AI chat suggests that’s normal for an RPP and they’re not going to increase the plan cost during my 24 month commitment period. Thoughts?

Experience so far

I decided to sign up with freedom with a temporary number to test it before porting my number. I was visiting rural southern Ontario for a few days and, as expected, the service was roaming on Nationwide, mostly Bell as far as I can tell. Travelled back to Ottawa and checked my service periodically (I wasn’t driving) and the roaming service was pretty decent and then on the 407 it was Freedom LTE or 5G most of the way, then back to Nationwide mostly. Once in Ottawa on the 417 I was surprised to see it stayed Nationwide until basically downtown….even driving past Kanata and Nepean. In the east end, mostly Freedom LTE and then 5G in my neighbourhood….i get 2 bars of 5g in my house compared with 1bar from Roger’s.

Still….leaves me wondering when you can’t get Freedom in populated areas of Ottawa when on a major route like the 417.

I’m so sick of Rogers constantly increasing by bill….i guess I’m just leery to make the leap to Freedom.

Videotron roaming outside Quebec

What’s the experience using Videotron when outside Quebec…roaming in other provinces, especially Saskatchewan?

Freedom vs Videotron Ottawa

Since residents of Ottawa can sign up with Freedom or Videotron, is there a benefit to being with one vs the other? When travelling outside Ottawa in Ontario or other provinces I assume you’re roaming and if in Quebec using the Videotron network

Rogers to Chatr

What will I notice if I switch from Rogers to Chatr?
I don’t use the 75GB Rogers provides me and the cost keeps increase. I called to reduce the plan and they just give me the run around and offer me more data that I don’t need.

If I were to switch to Chatr I realize it’s 4G and there’s no “roam like home” when travelling.

What else will I notice in terms of service? I live in Ottawa and generally travel outside the city every now and then to more rural areas, and 1-2 year travel to other provinces for work.

Nationwide

I often read comments about forcing the network onto on carrier or another….when I look at the network selection my only option is automatic? iPhone 15 on iOS 26.
How do you know which carrier you’re roaming on with nationwide and how do you switch it?

Kitchen Faucet

Is there such a thing as a kitchen faucet that meets these criteria:
1-hole installation
Pull out or pull down design
Removable aerator that would allow it be compatible with a portable dishwasher connection

If not, is there an alternate option that doesn’t involve replacing the sink to allow a 3 hole installation (I found a faucet that would work with a portable dishwasher and it had a side sprayer but 3 holes are required).

There’s no room to install a regular dishwasher.

Thanks.
