When Period Dramas meet LEGO

I made the world of Jane Austen with LEGO, and I thought I would share it with you.

Barton Cottage, which I took much inspiration from 1995's Sense and Sensibility.
Which I feel like revisiting, after seeing the trailer to the new adaptation!

Pemberley, Mr Darcy's estate, central to the story of Pride and Prejudice, was great fun making, and I am full of gratitude to all who gave me insight into all the details in the book!

I uploaded them both to LEGO Ideas, where The LEGO Group will consider making them into official LEGO sets available worldwide if they reach 10,000 supporters.

Pemberley in LEGO once more

Last year, around this time, I shared my first take on Pemberley in LEGO, which I uploaded to LEGO Ideas, and I was absolutely taken aback by all the support from the Austen communities.

Sadly, while it received 10,000 supporters in under 3 months, it did not go through the LEGO review board. After receiving invaluable feedback and insight from the Austen communities here, I refined the build and finally sent it to LEGO Ideas once more.

In a little over one day, the refined Pemberley has already gathered over 800 supporters!

A big thanks to all of you here at r/janeausten and r/PrideandPrejudice

LEGO Pemberley - Refined and back for a second round

A few months ago, I shared the bittersweet news that our initial 10,000-vote LEGO Pemberley project was passed over by the review board. But as promised, I have refined it, and it is back again!

We managed to hit 10,000 votes in less than three months last time because of the sheer passion of the Jane Austen community. If you want to see Jane Austen permanently represented on the LEGO shelf, please consider casting your vote and sharing it with your communities again for the second campaign!

Thank you all so much for your warmth, your ideas, and your ongoing support. Let's make it official this time!

Dear fellow Austenites,

Thanks to your incredible warmth and support, we saw Pemberley hit 10,000 votes in less than three months. It was a whirlwind journey, and seeing this community rally behind Jane Austen’s world was truly special.

The LEGO Group revealed their final picks from the review round a few days ago, and sadly, Pemberley was not chosen to become an official set this time.

While it’s a bit of a heartbreak, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. Reaching the "10k Club" is a massive achievement that belongs to this community as much as it does to me. Thank you!

But, all hope is not lost. History has shown that LEGO often says "not today" before saying "yes." Many iconic sets (like the Home Alone house) were only approved on their second or even third attempt. I firmly believe Pemberley deserves that same persistence.

I am planning to spend the next week or two in the "workshop" polishing the design for a second submission, and I would love to involve you in the process. Before I resubmit:

  • What is one tiny detail or prop from the book you’d love to see tucked away inside the manor?
  • What minor change or "Easter egg" would make this the definitive version of Pemberley for you?

I’ll be reading every suggestion as I refine the build. Thank you for being part of this journey—let’s see if we can make the second round even stronger!
