🌕 Bruuxer for Android TV (free, ad-free browser + built-in game collection) — new board game "Moonpool" launching in ~4 days

Hey everyone,

I want to share an update on Bruuxer, my free Android TV app, and announce that a brand-new game — Moonpool — is about to join the collection.

What is Bruuxer?

Bruuxer is a free, remote-control-friendly web browser built specifically for Android TV, bundled with a growing collection of built-in games you can play entirely with your TV remote — no mouse, keyboard, or gamepad required. It's completely free and ad-free, no subscriptions, no interstitial ads between games. Think of it as "a TV browser that also happens to be a mini arcade."

The games currently in Bruuxer

  • Snake – the classic snake game, remote-friendly and TV-sized.
  • Four Wins – the classic "Connect Four" strategy game, play against a friend or the AI.
  • Bruuxout – a paddle-and-ball brick breaker with power-ups and a boss fight at the end.
  • Bruuxee – a colorful side-scrolling platformer/jump'n'run across multiple worlds, with power-ups, enemies, and boss fights.
  • Bluukee – a falling-block puzzle game, complete with a special bomb piece.
  • Space Bruuxer – a fast-paced space dodger/shooter: steer through asteroid fields, grab power-ups, and survive as long as you can.
  • Solitaire – classic card solitaire, built for the couch.
  • BrocksNDias – an Emerald Mine / Boulder Dash inspired puzzle adventure: dig through caves, collect gems, and dodge falling rocks and enemies — with almost 6000 levels to load via the floppy-disk icon.

And now: Moonpool 🌕🚀

The big news: Moonpool, a brand-new turn-based board game, is in its final release phase and should land in the Play Store in about 3-4 days.

Moonpool takes the classic "buy properties, collect rent, don't go broke" board game formula and rebuilds it from scratch with a lunar sci-fi setting:

  • Buy real Moon craters — each one is named after an actual astronomer (Plato, Copernicus, Tycho, Kepler, Archimedes, and more), so you pick up a bit of real astronomy while you play.
  • Build research modules and lunar colonies once you control a full set of craters.
  • Trade with your opponents, manage mortgages, and keep enough cash on hand to survive rent payments.
  • Play with up to 6 players total, mixing humans and AI opponents on three difficulty levels.
  • Fully playable with just the TV remote — no extra controller needed.

It's built for the whole family: board game fans will feel right at home with the familiar mechanics, while kids and casual players get a bit of painless "hey, that's a real crater!" learning mixed into the fun.

If you want a preview of how it plays, there's already a full guide up:

Try Bruuxer

Bruuxer (with all of the games above already included, Moonpool arriving very soon) is free and ad-free on the Play Store:

Would love to hear what you think, and if you get to try Moonpool once it's live, I'm very open to feedback!

Emerald Mine Fan Port for Android TV (Free & Ad-Free)

Hi everyone,

A childhood dream of mine has finally come true, and I wanted to share it with this amazing retro community!

As a lifelong fan of the cult classic Emerald Mine, I always dreamed of bringing its unique magic back in my own way. Thanks to the incredible support of Holger Schemel and many talented level designers from the community, I have created a modern tribute game integrated into Bruuxer, designed specifically for Android TV.

What is Bruuxer? Bruuxer is a free, ad-free web browser built from the ground up for Android TV and Google TV. It offers comfortable D-pad website navigation and features a built-in retro game arcade with classic games optimized for your living room.

The game is called "BrocksNDias" inside the app – here is how to find and start it:

  1. Download (or update to the latest version of) Bruuxer on your Android TV / Google TV and open the app.
  2. In the sidebar on the right side of the screen, click the blue button with the gamepad icon (or simply press the blue key on your TV remote).
  3. Select BrocksNDias from the list.
  4. Title Screen Tip: Click the floppy disk icon to choose your level pack, and click the user icon to enter your player name!

Why this project is so close to my heart: After more than 30 years, my parents will finally be able to play their beloved "Chäde Chäde" game again! Anyone who grew up playing Emerald Mine knows exactly what that special feeling is like. I honestly cannot describe how excited I am to see their faces when the first rocks start falling and the first diamonds are collected. At almost 80 years old, I hope they're still as quick and determined as they were back in the day!

What to expect:

  • Nearly 6,000 levels: We have integrated the massive library created by the incredible Emerald Mine community over the decades. You can easily browse and select all packs using the floppy disk icon on the start screen.
  • Optimized for TV: The game is written in modern code, runs smoothly, and is fully optimized for standard D-pad TV remotes (a Bluetooth gamepad can also be connected for even better response times).
  • 100% Free & No Ads: This is a pure passion project. No paywalls, no annoying ads – and the update is already live and ready to play!

It has been a long and sometimes challenging journey—plenty of late nights, head-scratching debugging sessions, and moments of frustration. But looking back at the final result, it was absolutely worth every single second. I am genuinely proud of what we have built.

A huge thank you to everyone in the community who helped make this possible.

Have fun to all the Emerald Mine veterans who remember the good old days, and to everyone who is about to discover why we spent countless hours exploring caves and dodging falling boulders!

Stay retro, keep digging, and enjoy the adventure!

Emerald Mine fan port for Android TV (free without ads)

A childhood dream has come true for me!

As a huge fan of the cult classic Emerald Mine, I always dreamed of bringing that magic back in my own way. With the incredible support of Holger Schemel and many talented level designers from the community, I was able to create a new game for Bruuxer (in Play Store), written in modern code and designed for Android TVs.

And here's the part I'm looking forward to the most: after more than 30 years, my parents will be able to play their beloved "Chäde Chäde" game again!  Anyone who grew up with Emerald Mine knows exactly what that means. I honestly can't describe how excited I am to see their faces when the first rocks start falling and the first diamonds are collected. At almost 80 years old, I hope they're still as quick and determined as they were back in the day.

One of the best things is that nearly 6,000 levels created by the amazing Emerald Mine community over the years are available to play. That's enough digging, puzzling, and diamond collecting to keep even the most dedicated cave explorer busy for a very long time!

If everything goes according to plan, Google should release the update sometime in the middle or towards the end of this week.

It has been a long and sometimes challenging journey, with plenty of late nights, debugging sessions, and moments of frustration. But looking back, it was absolutely worth it. I'm genuinely proud of what has been achieved.
