200 Mbps on speed tests, but only 40-70 Mbps while playing Remuxes on Nuvio. Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I made a post yesterday about some issues I was having, and I think I'm getting a bit closer to finding the root of the problem.

Here is the situation: When I play Remux files on Nuvio and check the real-time network speed on the detailed stats screen, it fluctuates between 40-70 Mbps. However, when I run a regular speed test on the device, I get around 200 Mbps. Is it normal to have this much of a speed drop during playback? It turns out this massive fluctuation is exactly why my streams keep buffering.

I am using a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 (3rd Gen). I even bought an Ethernet adapter/cable to fix this. It still gives me 200-250 Mbps in speed tests via Ethernet, but ironically, it performs even worse in Nuvio compared to Wi-Fi.

By the way, my home internet is a 5G cellular connection (FWA/Mobile Router). Could all these instability issues be related to the nature of 5G connections? I really don't know what to do next and would appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks in advance

4K Remux buffering on TorBox despite fast internet (5G / Mi Box 3) - High Ping on CDN

I'm having buffering issues while trying to watch 4K remuxes using TorBox (via Nuvio/Stremio), and I suspect it's a routing/CDN issue with TorBox and my new ISP.

Here is my setup and the problem:

Device: Xiaomi Mi Box 3rd Gen (Connected via Wi-Fi, getting ~250 Mbps. Also tested Ethernet at ~350 Mbps).

Internet: I recently switched to a 5G Home Internet connection in Turkey. On my phone, I get around 500 Mbps.

The Issue: When I run a standard speed test on my Mi Box (fast.com via Nuvio), I easily get 224 Mbps with 98ms ping. However, when I run the TorBox CDN speed test, my speeds drop drastically. The best I get is on the NEUR CDN with an average of 79 Mbps (Max 94 Mbps), but the ping is terribly high at 489ms. Other CDNs like WNAM give me 900ms+ ping.

Because of this 94 Mbps cap and high ping to TorBox servers, heavy 4K remuxes constantly buffer. It seems my 5G ISP has terrible routing to TorBox servers.

My questions:

Is there a specific CDN setting I should force in TorBox for better routing from the Middle East/Europe edge?

Would using a VPN (like Cloudflare WARP or Proton) on the Mi Box help bypass this ISP routing issue to the TorBox CDNs?

Has anyone else experienced this specific throttling/routing issue with 5G ISPs and TorBox?

Any advice on how to get my TorBox speeds to match my actual internet speeds would be greatly appreciated!

Turkish sports channels (beIN Sports, S Sport) not loading on Strong 8K

Hi everyone, today I bought a Strong 8K sub. Overall, the channels are working perfectly fine, but I can't get the Turkish sports channels (like beIN Sports) to load at all.

I messaged the seller about it, but they haven't replied since this morning and I have no idea why it's taking them so long to answer.

Is there something specific I need to do, or do Turkish sports channels like beIN Sports and S Sport just not work properly on here? I'd appreciate any help!

Can I get a 3-month Stremio donation plan?

When buying a Stremio premium/donation package, am I limited to just 1-month or 12-month options? Is there any way to purchase a 3-month plan, does anyone know?

Sharing Nuvio with family members: Will their watch history sync to my Trakt account?

I'm planning to share Nuvio with my family members, but I have a couple of questions.

If I set my profile as the primary one, they will be able to use my add-ons. However, since my Trakt account is connected, will the things they watch show up as "watched" on my Trakt account?

If that's the case, is there any workaround or solution to prevent their watch history from mixing with mine? Thanks in advance!

Switching to TorBox for family sharing: Essential vs. Pro for 4-5 concurrent streams?

Hi everyone. After the recent Real Debrid issues, I decided to switch to TorBox. While looking into it, I noticed there are no IP restrictions. I want to extend my TorBox subscription so I can share it with about 4-5 family members using Nuvio and Stremio. I initially bought a 1-month Essential plan just to test it out, and unfortunately, I already used a referral code.

My first question is: would it make more sense for us to get the Pro plan in this situation? If we all happen to stream at the exact same time, will the Essential plan give us an error?

My second question is: if I upgrade my current 1-month Essential to a 12-month Pro plan, will there be a prorated refund for the remaining time? Also, since I already used a referral code, I assume that perk is gone, right? I probably can't use another one on the same account for a 12-month subscription.

Switching from Real-Debrid to TorBox: Stremio library sync/history questions for shared use?

Hey everyone, Due to the recent issues, I’ve made the switch from Real-Debrid to TorBox. From what I understand, it can be used without the strict household/IP restrictions.

My brother is going to use it with his own Stremio account, and I’ll be using it with mine. My question is: will this cause any conflicts in our libraries? Are we going to constantly see each other's watch history and "continue watching" lists?

If anyone has experience with this, how can I prevent this from happening and keep our profiles totally separate? Thanks in advance.
