What are my options?

My parents gifted me a car a few years ago and in the chaos of moving across the country with it, I never finished the title transfer process. I have the Certificate of Title with it all filled out for them handing it over to me, but it’s not officially in my name in the system because I never finished the process with the DMV. The title was filled out years ago at this point. I’m not knowledgeable about this. If I can’t sell to Carvana, what are my options to get rid of the car in any way? I stupidly thought this was going to be an easy process and I have to get rid of my car no matter what within days. Please be kind.

Coast to coast, choosing a cube company

I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a few weeks since I started thinking about moving. Well now it’s official and it’s happening in 3 weeks. I am moving from the east coast to the west coast of the US. I live in a studio apartment, with a small storage room of stuff in the basement. I have a few questions. I’m in a bit of a hurry and trying to keep costs as low as possible (as everyone here is haha!)

1. Space needed: I have gotten some quotes, but they don’t mean anything without knowing how many cubes I need. I have tried using that website Turckpacker, but I’m not fully understanding how to use it. Can someone help me out with how much room I need? This is what I have to pack:
• Metal queen Bed frame
• High boy dresser
• Desk
• 2 Side tables
• 2 small stools
• 1 small bench
• 1 floor lamp
• Floor Mirrors x2
• Garbage can
• Standing Fan
• Area Rug
• 40 framed posters (will put in boxes)
• 20 Sterilite 114Liter/ 120 Quart plastic bins

2. Same-Day Pickup: I live in an apartment building and it HAS to be same-day pickup. Which companies provide same-day pickup and is the extra cost crazy?

3. Material of cube: I need to store the cube for a few months. It sounds like a metal cube is ideal, but are the UHaul U-Box ones that bad?

4. Climate Control/ Covered Storage: I’m mostly worried about rain. Do they all have the option of climate controlled/ covered storage? In people’s experiences, did you regret not getting climate control?

5. Moving Help: Do any of the cube companies come with the option to hire in-house movers? Or do people hire a separate local company? I am capable of doing it, but I feel like I would need help securing the items inside the cube- for movement and for weather and pests.

  1. Other: Not as pressing, but do I need to buy my own lock and my own straps? And does every company provide tracking?

THANK YOU in advance!!

Woke up to this little guy on my 4th floor window

I found this subreddit because of this wee visitor. Is it a male or female? What kind is it? Looking at some of your posts- fascinating creatures!!

He (?) stayed on the sill until the sun started hitting him, then he climbed up the window, pulsing up and down, taking his time finding his next footing with each leg.

He was a very calming presence to have around for the morning!

I’ll post more photos in the comments if I can.

In town during Twelfth celebrations

On the 12th and 13th, I am interested in observing the culture around the celebrations separate from the strong feelings against or for them. Will there be things happening around town or should I go to the parade in Limavady?

Taxi from Derry to Castledowey, Glenties, or Dungloe?

What are my options for getting from Derry to Castledowey, Glenties, or Dungloe? I am trying to travel on the 14th into Donegal County, any time in the morning. The destination options are to make it easier to find transport- meeting my uncle at one of those three later in the day.

Bus looks like it will take a long time (?) and I am not renting a car. What are my taxi options and about how much will it cost you think?

Thanks all in advance!

In town and I have a hodgepodge of questions for ya locals!

I arrived in Galway a few hours ago and haven’t planned anything for my trip of 48 hours. That’s how I like to travel! I am an American woman in her late 30s and have a few random questions for the next day and a half:

  1. Any local sports match going on I could attend? Hurling, cricket, football, Gaelic football, rugby? Any level, any age

  2. At home I go to a Chinese acupressure/ massage place every once in a while that costs me less than $1 per minute. I keep my clothes on in a room of other people and they go HARD. No luxury or fuss. Any cheap place like that around here that you can go for like 30 minutes?

  3. Would I be able to find a small clothes steamer at a store in town?

  4. Does every pub play the World Cup? Looking to watch the one at 8pm tonight and the few matches tomorrow.

Thanks all in advance and see you around town for the next two days! (Loving your city so far!!)
