German student visa says Studienkolleg, but my university confirmed I can start my Bachelor's directly ,can I enter Germany with this visa?

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian student admitted to Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) for the B.A. Motion Pictures programme at the Media Campus Dieburg.

I recently received my German national student visa. However, I noticed that my Zusatzblatt says:

“Besuch des Studienkollegs gem. § 16b AufenthG in Darmstadt.”

The problem is that I do not actually need Studienkolleg.

Before applying for the visa, I completed the required aptitude/entrance examination for the Motion Pictures programme, and h_da confirmed that I was admitted directly to the Bachelor's programme.

I contacted h_da again after receiving my visa, and they confirmed in writing:

>

I then asked h_da what I should do about the discrepancy between my visa and my actual admission. They asked whether I had received confirmation from the Motion Pictures Department that I passed the aptitude test.

I confirmed that I had and that I had submitted the result during my visa application.

My main question is:
If I travel to Germany with the visa as it currently stands, could I have problems at the German border because the Zusatzblatt mentions Studienkolleg?

Or would it be possible to enter Germany and have the purpose/details corrected by the Ausländerbehörde after arrival?

Has anyone experienced something similar ,especially a situation where the visa had an incorrect/old Studienkolleg condition but the university had directly admitted them to the degree?

I'm planning to travel to Germany in September, so I'm trying to get this clarified before booking everything.

Thanks!

Incoming h_da student looking for or [temporary] accommodation in Darmstadt/Dieburg

Hi everyone!I'm Rahul, 24, from India, and I'll be moving to Germany this September to start my Bachelor's degree in Motion Pictures at Hochschule Darmstadt.

I'm currently looking for a room/WG in Darmstadt, Dieburg or nearby areas, and I'm open to different options.

Ideally, I'm looking for something from around last week of October 2026, but I'm also very open to a temporary/sublet room for the first 2–3 months. My plan is to find a more permanent place once I'm in Germany.

I've been looking on WG-Gesucht for a while and have contacted quite a few people, but finding something from India has been difficult. So I thought I'd ask here as well.

A little about me: I'm a photographer and filmmaker . I'm friendly, clean, responsible and easygoing. I enjoy cooking, watching films, exploring new places, meeting people and occasionally playing football.

If you know of a room, someone looking for a flatmate, a temporary sublet, or even another group/community where I should ask, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm also happy to do a video call and introduce myself.

Thanks a lot! 🙏

Looking for One-Night Stay Near BITSoM

Hi everyone! I'm Rahul, a photographer who covers the Masai × BITSOM events every month.

I travel around 70 km from Mumbai, and since the event runs for two consecutive days, the travel becomes quite exhausting, especially during the monsoon.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any affordable accommodation near campus, or if there's any possibility of staying in the dorm/guest room for just one night between the two event days. Happy to pay if needed.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Anyone waiting for an Estonian D-Visa appointment from India?

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian student admitted to a university in Tallinn for September 2026.

I've already paid my tuition, booked my accommodation, and completed all the required documents. The only thing left is my D-visa.

I've been checking the New Delhi embassy appointment portal for months (10–12 times a day), but no slots have ever appeared for me. I contacted the embassy, and they said July slots are already fully booked and advised me to keep checking the portal.

Has anyone recently managed to get an appointment? Is there anything else I can do besides waiting?

Any advice would really help.Thanks!
