I have always wanted stores to play Hatsune Miku and I’ve always wondered why stores sell so much Hatsune Miku, Vocaloid, UTAU, SynthV, and Voicepeak merchandise, yet never play any of the music in-store. One time at Hot Topic while buying a Miku tank top, I asked an employee about it and she said they do take song suggestions, but the music choices are up to corporate.

It just feels weird that stores will sell merch for characters like Hatsune Miku, Rin & Len Kagamine, KAITO, MEIKO, Megurine Luka, GUMI, IA, and Kasane Teto, but you almost never hear their music playing anywhere. Even Round 1 Arcades

barely play Vocaloid songs outside of the game machines.

Honestly, I wish more stores, gyms, and public places would play Vocaloid music instead of the same mainstream radio songs all the time. Vocaloid fans literally make and share their own music, so it would be awesome hearing it in public more often.

Now that we have the Anime Blue Reflection Ray remade into a Video Game with gameplay and different graphics, my Kingdom Hearts style Blue Reflection Ray gameplay picture makes a whole lot of sense now. I took a picture of my Hatsune Miku Vocaloid poster on the wall and I cropped out the image to show just Kagamine Rin in the picture for all the Rin Vocaloid fans. I love her, her music and cute design ever since I first found out about Vocaloid in the Project Diva Video Games. And even now. Neptunia Virtual Stars really stands out because of how it blends fast paced third person shooter gameplay with its VTuber crossover concept. The shooting sections are surprisingly smooth and energetic, and the constant switching between characters helps keep the action from feeling repetitive. What really gives the game its identity is the VTuber presence throughout. It features well known VTubers like Kizuna Al, Tokino Sora, Shirakami Fubuki, Sakura Miko, and Inugami Korone, all woven into the world of Virtualand and Planet Emote. Especially how NisAmerica and Compil Heart made You and Me from Mewtral main VTuber Anime girl characters playable right off the bat to help promote their Virtual YouTuber channel on YouTube. Also it's not just background cameos either. The VTuber collaboration is a core part of the game's personality and charm, giving it a unique digital idol energy that fits the Neptunia style well.

I'm not really much into shooter video games myself. It's just sometimes I play them when I find one that is fun, but this game VVVTunia combined JRPG with a 3rd person style shooter that was very unique. You don't usually get that in Video Games nowadays. The crossover between the Neptunia CPUs and VTubers also makes the whole experience feel more lively and chaotic in a fun way. It's lighthearted, flashy, and focused on entertainment rather than taking itself too seriously.

Overall Score: 8.5/10

Gameplay: 8.5/10

VTuber integration: 9/10

Fun factor: 9/10

Story/presentation: 8.5/10

Overall, it's a weird but enjoyable mix of shooter action and VTuber idol energy that ends up being one of the more memorable Neptunia spin-offs.
