This happened when I was a freshman in high school in 2013. We went as a class on a service trip to Costa Rica (this was a very small independent school). We were lodged in pairs with host families in a very small village in the mountains. Me and my classmate went to sleep in our bunk beds for the night. In the middle of the night I wake up for no particular reason. I’m definitely fully awake and not dreaming, and I’m not experiencing sleep paralysis (I had experienced it once before and once later in college, this was not that). I don’t see anything, I’m just lying in bed, but I hear a voice whisper. The voice almost sounds like the wind if that makes sense, but there wasn’t any wind outside at all.

The voice whispers: “where are you?”. It holds the “are”. It whispers it again: “where arrrrrre you?”. It does a third time, and this time a similar voice responds: “right here”. This call and response repeats two more times before stopping.

I’ve only started thinking about this again recently. I’ve never bought into the paranormal and after this encounter I more or less brushed it off. If anything I’m looking for a non-paranormal explanation but unlike other weird stuff I’ve encountered I can’t really find one. Any thoughts? Did I overhear a ghastly and ethereal conversation?

I have a commander deck in every mono-color except for white and I’d like to change that.

One reason is that I recently pulled the oil-slick [[Mondrak, Glory Dominus]] from a Compleat Edition bundle I impulse bought on a sale. The card is stunning and I want to find a home for it. I could easily make Mondrak the commander, and I still might, but I also feel like a token doubler in the command zone is a boring choice. That said, between wanting to include Mondrak and having some great cards like [[Caretaker’s Talent]] lying around without a home, I’m definitely wanting to go in a tokens direction with the deck.

Are there any mono-white token commanders you have experience with that you enjoy piloting or playing against? I’m especially looking for suggestions that are less popular or offer a unique build within a token strategy. One thought is [[Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed]], which I’ve had laying around for a while, but I’m not sure if she does enough to keep up within my playgroups.
