Should I major in Finance or IT if I want a fintech career?

Hey guys,

I just graduated high school and I am pretty unsure about what career I want. I’ve always been somewhat interested in Finance and somewhat interested in computers which is what made me think of Fintech. Do I know a lot about Finance or computers? No. I’d love to learn though! If you have any advice or youtube videos you could link about the field then that’d be much appreciated.

Anyways, I heard the college I’m going to doesn’t have that good of a CS program but has a very good finance and IT program! Which would you recommend?

I’m in the USA btw, Florida.

my parents are forcing me to get dental work done in a foreign country “cause it’s cheaper.” What do I do?

Hi! I’m 18m and from the US

My parents told me recently that they wanted to go on vacation to Colombia. I was like “alright, I guess it’s time for vacation.”

The issue is we haven’t been doing any vacation activities at all. It turns out that this was just a trick for them to get me to come to Colombia and get dental work done here cause it’s cheaper.

My mom is a dental hygienist and said “don’t worry, it should be fine” but I still feel pretty uneasy. Like, warning signs are going off right now, I’m hearing the alarm bells, get what I mean?

Also, I don’t even need to have dental work done. I’m pretty sure my teeth are healthy. When I was 17 I got my wisdom teeth removed already too so why would I need to get dental work done in Colombia? I don’t think I have any cavities.

I heard my family talking about “ohhh fillings are so much cheaper here than in the US” but wtf do I need fillings for?!? I think they were talking about in reference to themselves though but that still makes me worry that the dental people would put fillings in healthy teeth.

I told my parents that I don’t want to get dental work done in a foreign country and they laughed at me and called me an idiot and yelled at me to “stop being ridiculous!” 😭

I know I’m an adult now but I’ve only been an adult for like 4 weeks and I’m stuck in a country that speaks a different language with no money 😭

I am completely reliant on my family here unfortunately.

My family thinks I’m an idiot for not wanting to go to the dentist in Colombia cause “dentists in Colombia are cheaper and are actually better and more skillful than in the US.”

I feel like that’s not true though. Are dentists in Colombia actually better than in the US?!?

I’m getting like peer pressured right now. It’s kinda difficult for me to say no when my entire family, siblings, mom and dad are telling me that I should go to the dentist here and they’re all treating me like an idiot for not going.

I’m the black sheep of the family right now. They’re all very excited about going to the dentist in Colombia but I’m not.

I honestly find it weird how adamant they are about it.

They’re not even going to a fancy place in Colombia to get dental work done. They found some random dental office located inside of a mall in Colombia. 💀

Anyways, what do I do? How do I say no? 😭

Am I the one in the wrong? Is it actually fine to get dental work done in a foreign country?

is it bad to have classes in the morning and in the afternoon on the same day?

i’m an incoming freshman,

i wish i could find better times for a lot of these classes so they’re not as spread out but a lot of the classes i need are already full

i wish i could schedule them to either be only in the morning or only in the evening so there aren’t any gaps

Is it a bad idea to take stuff to make me sleepy so I don’t have to suffer while on the plane?

Man, I had to travel to a different city 3 hours away, stay there for 4 days then now i have to travel back and THE VERY NEXT DAY travel to a different country on a long plane ride in economy 😭

i just got back from this other tripppp bro and now i gotta go to another country wth. It’s 3am rn, i gotta get on that fucking plane today and i’m so so so done with traveling bro.

i CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. I genuinely think that if I don’t like down a bunch of Benadryl i’ll become combatant.

why can’t i just take a lot of benadryl so i can doze off peacefully during the flight? I can right? I think i should

my (18m) family will be traveling with me so they can make sure i’m all good, i really don’t have to be in a good state of mind to travel since my family will take care of me, i can be in a sleepy state of mind and i want to be in a sleepy state of mind

also also, none of these trips are things i planned, these are things that have been forced upon me by outside forces so it’s not like im an idiot at scheduling shit, no, i don’t have a choice at all, im not gonna get into it cause it’s personal but i really don’t have a choice

don’t ask how i don’t have a choice, don’t say “oh, you actually have the freedom to schedule thing won your own” or “oh, you don’t have to go” no bro. trust me bro, this is forced upon me and i do not have a choice. I genuinely do not have a choice

i keep getting fucking moved around like an object broooo, i gotta be here then i gotta be there

i didn’t even have the chance to rest after my last trip and now i gotta travel againnnn 😭😭😭

i think i should just take all the benadryl before i enter the airport and hopefully it’ll kick in at a good time
