Spoilers below,
but I’m still holding out hope that the things the creators have said have been lies regarding RE:BOOT’s connection to A;C.
The imagery of the trailer… the name of the game… the fact that the steam page hypes up essentially a “new story”…
I just CAN’T accept that it’s a single new route that’s a retelling of preexisting material. I have to believe that it’s more different, as a game, than we’re being led to believe.
I think they want the wider audience to believe it’s a great jumping in point to maximize sales. If they straight up say “it’s a sequel to A;C,” I think it would alienate the larger audience and be a financial risk.
Is anyone else with me, or am I drinking too much copium?

I just finished my first time playthrough of all the GU games. I also just finished SIGN for the first time (a complete masterpiece in my opinion).
I loved GU, but thought it didn’t really come close to SIGN on a lot of the larger themes SIGN was covering.
Regardless, I really loved Volume 4’s wrap-up. Without spoiling it, my heart was pumping at the direction they went with it and the dynamics of that final battle.
The series honestly feels incomplete without it to me! I couldn’t imagine leaving it at Volume 3 after playing this one.
My question is - was this well received by the fan base when it released?
