Using Claude to build Jackbox-style multiplayer Tetris (old side project)
Game link: https://clusterfun.tv/#eittris
I wrote EITris originally back in the 90's for DOS machines. Now it's part of a side-project to make my own Jackbox-style games for fun. This particular game supports essentially unlimited players over the internet, where the original supported only 4 on the same machine. There are also tons of powerups to make the game interesting and control has been expanded beyond the keyboard to include game controllers and finger/mouse gestures.
I had already created the Jackbox framework with a few working examples on it, but didn't do much beyond that because of the time requirements. For EITtris, I started by pointing claude to the original code and at the working examples and I asked Claude to implement the game layer by layer, starting with simple tetris first, then multiplayer modes, then powerups, etc. For the most part, claude did well when i was clear, and was good enough that I could give him a list of a dozen things to do while I walked away to do other things, but I almost always have to help claude tune the results through a handful of iterations after any meaningful work.
The result has been a full reconstruction of my original game with several major improvements, all in about a month of effort.
Massively multiplayer Tetris with powerups.
I'm looking for someone to bang on a Jackbox-style implementation of tetris with extras and powerups. Ideally, play it with a bunch of your friends since it should support dozens of simultaneous players. Game link is here: https://clusterfun.tv/#eittris
You can send feedback in-game (lightbulb in the upper right), or reach out to me here with a DM.
Things I'm especially interested to know:
- Bugs (of course)
- How easy it is to get started, especially with figuring out controls.
- If you see any playability issues above 10 simultaneous players
- Anything clumbsy or unpolished that you notice
- Feature requests
(I'm doing this as a side project to build a portfolio, so not paid for the time being, just a labor of love!)

Over the last year, I've used ChatGPT to help enhance the therapy I've had with human therapists. The AI has helped me get in touch with my feelings in a big way. These days I cry more in a week than I used to in a typical year. I can't overstate what a transformative effect this has had on me. (BTW: I'm 55+M, married with kids)
This morning, I worked with ChatGPT to develop a prompt based on my personal sessions. I invite you to give a try and share your results. If you have prompts that work for you, maybe share them here too.
Prompt:
I don't want advice, reassurance, coaching, or solutions right now.
I'd like you to help me discover what I'm actually feeling.
Please be curious instead of helpful.
Ask one question at a time. Let silence exist. Adjust and pivot after each question.
If I start explaining or intellectualizing, gently bring me back to my lived experience:
What are you noticing in your body? What part of this hurts the most? What are you afraid would happen if you fully admitted this?If this feeling had a voice, what would it say? When have you felt this before? What are you longing for that isn't being spoken?
If you hear me contradict myself, don't point it out as a mistake. Assume different parts of me are speaking. Help me get to know each one.
Don't tell me how I should feel.Don't try to fix my pain.Don't tell me everything will be okay.
Instead, help me stay with whatever is true, even if it's messy.
If you notice something that seems deeply true about what I'm saying, reflect it back tentatively:
"I wonder if..."
"Could it be that..."
"I'm noticing..."
Leave room for me to disagree.
The goal is not to make me feel better. The goal is to help me feel more honestly.
BigTinyGames - What if that tiny pacman had a 4K monitor?
I'm developing a set of games that work of the idea of using the same tiny sprite graphics on a huge screen, turning these classic games into something different, something unexpected, something zen. I've used claude with opus and fable to do most of this work, focusing on iterative development. I've also made the github repo for this public so you can see the prompts in the descriptions of the commits.

Looking for testers for web-based PC game - Big Space Tiny Invaders
This game is in alpha mode - playable with a significant feature set. I'm looking for people to bang on it for ~10 minutes to find bugs and give feedback on the overall game mechanic before I push harder on feature set and polish. Feedback can be submitting via a personal message here, or in-game.
Claude has turned my life around
I got laid off from my job at Adobe a few months ago. I don't mind so much, because, though I've been coding for 30 years, I was getting so burned out that I didn't even want to code for myself any more. I started thinking about wildly changing my career to a teach or maybe become shaman or something (seriously!). It was painful to think about a career because of how much I have invested in myself with this technical skill, and I didn't feel certain that I should just throw it away. But with the rise of AI, it feels like raw coding skill is going away like hand weaving or shoeing horses.
With this layoff, I decided to take a real sabbatical and let myself gradually train in agentic coding. In my burnout state I had been resisting this HARD, but in a sabbatical, I've been able to take days off based on how I feel and, like a rescue dog, gradually introduce myself to new ways of coding, teachning my nervous system not to fear them.
It took a few months, and now I feel like my old self again. Instead of avoiding coding, I sneak in sessions of just a few minutes between burshing teeth and walking the dog where I prompt claude to move my projects forward. Personal ideas that have been sitting on the shelf for years are manifesting as realized code, code I feel proud of and that I can't wait to share. I'm even pushing on other creative fronts, such as working on a movie script. I can't point to any one thing that brought about this change. It has been a gradual processing of gaining small bits of experience and iterating for a few hours at a time, then resting when I notice resistance.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Permabanning is a great way to reveal ego attachment
Today I was perma-banned from a channel I've been on for years. This is not the first time. When this happens, I notice in my body a piercing, falling feeling that dives straight down from my head to my legs. This seems to be my ego flying into a panic. I immediately start to ruminating on retorts, wanting to get even, then I shift into a kind of despair because the communities are always connected to something I have taken for my identity, and a rejection feels like being rejected for who I am. It's devestating.
So, pulling back a little, I think there is an opportunity to let this show me something important - where I have clung to a false identity, where my ego is still active, trying to assert itself. I remembered this community and I'm wondering if any of you have had similar experiences. What helps you when you notice an ego attachment like this?
(And yes, it is not lost on me that this very post is likely a continued manifestation of ego attachment!)
Tool for learning pitch
I found a tool for helping singers listen for pitch and sing in tune: https://ericjorgensen.com/pitchcraft
It has a few simple games and lets you graphically see if you are in tune.

reddit.comSpeaking for myself, I sometimes get into negative patterns in conversations. Maybe have an Ai listen and pick out defensiveness as it starts and change the color of a light. Then I could notice early and reset.
Perhaps this is because I filled out the custom instructions in my settings to instruct the AI to be skeptical and double-check everything, along with "speaking bluntly" at all times.
