I cannot belive she said she didnt want a wedding for one of the reasons being that its not what she wanted to spend her money on it.
then threw herself an atleaset $100k+ backyard wedding that looks like love shack fancy threw up.
Who am I kidding its still horrable
I recently received these earnings from Quince, and I love them! However, in the product photo, they have a 14K stamp, but the ones I got don't. Has anyone else had this happen? I know sometimes different manufacturers will stamp them in different places, but I can't find a stamp anywhere. I will probably end up taking them to a jeweler to double check, but I still want to know if anyone else has had this happen before.
My husband and I are both 30, live in a rent-stabilized NYC apartment, and have no debt and have never had credit card debt. Our net worth is roughly $250k+ across retirement accounts, investments, and savings. We have enough liquid to cover 6 months of expenses. Our fixed monthly expenses (rent, bills, basic groceries) total about $3,300. Our monthly take-home pay after tax, retirement contributions, savings, and investments ect. is $6,200. Because our rent is low, we plan to stay here long term and have no plans to buy property or a car for atleast 5+ years.
I currently work part time and am looking for a full time job that would increase my income by $30k–$40k. We plan to start a family in 1–2 years, but not until I get a better job. We have twice-monthly date nights, occasional travel, nice birthday/anniversery gifts. Other then that we don't have expensive hobbies.
Now heres the situation. I was recently discussing our finances with a "finance bro" friend. I was asking him about good investments and our finacial situation. I told him the above info and he said we are in a great financial situation for people our age in the city. I then mentioned that once I get a new job and max out my savings and retirement goals, I want to buy a $5,000 watch. It’s a milestone piece I’ve wanted for 7+ years and couldn't previously afford. My husband and I agreed on this, said we would also contribute my birthday present budget towards it. My husband says if im happy he is happy. I also know that once we have kids, there will be less room for luxury spending.
My friend reacted incredibly harshly. He said we cant afford it. He called it a dumb financial decision, lecturing me about spending roughly 3% of our joint income on a frivolous, useless item. Called me dumb. He said I’d be taking money away from my husband, and boasted that when he got a $7k raise, his only reward was an $8 latte. He sited a bunch of budgeting rules about big ticket item. We argued about it for a while.
I am aware that this is not the best use of 5k. And there are better ways but I know we are not struggling and I would just like to know if this is really as stupid as he is making it out to be? The way I see it is if we have our bills taken care of and savings goals met, there is no reason to police our wants budget. Our overall budget does fall into the 50/25/25 rule pretty conservativly but we are not hardcore budgeters.
They always look like she is a kid wearing dress up shoes. Like a size too big
THAT WAS IT??? the MOST BASIC ASS ballgown ass wedding dress?? Loved the veil though, im a sucker for a cathedral veil
The ban must be over soon if her mom is posting refrence to the big weekend
I was snooping and got a little confused. Both familys have money (his family def more then hers) but it feels like they didnt spend money on the wedding?? Youre telling me the best they could do is a little bath & tennis club? Her inlaws took the family on a $65k a week yatch trip but her mom ran around Jersey picking up wedding decor from facebook marketplace? Make it make sense.
