Timber frame covered pavilion color scheme

I will soon be building a covered pavilion with treated 8x8 posts, treated parallam psl beams, 4x6 Douglas fir rafters, and 2x6 pine tongue and groove decking. I am looking for ideas for painting or staining the posts, the beams, the rafters and ceiling deck. I would love to see pictures. Thank you in advance

Materials a colors for Pavilions

Starting to design and move forward with timber frame pavilion structure.
I am looking to see what type of materials others are using for the various members and the finishes on these members.
I am looking at treated 8 x 8 posts that will get wrapped next year with PVC material. Main beams and cross beams are going to be treated glulams and wrapped next year. Rafters to be treated 4 x 6 stain or paint - dark or light? Ceiling deck exposed 2 x 6 t&g stain or paint -dark or light and most likely opposite of the rafters.
Looking for construction advice from past experience. TIA

New SketchUp user

I am thinking about using SketchUp but not sure where to start.
Does anyone have basic timber frame patio structure plans in sketchup that could be modified to a specific situation for new SketchUp user.

Foundation for new covered patio

With timber frame construction I see some timber frame construction installed directly on a slab patio. I am curious if this is acceptable or if footings are required and if so, an idea on footing design.

Open roof timber frame structure

I am looking to build a timber frame structure with open ended gables. I am thinking of having the roof open at the top similar to this photo. Has anyone done this before. I am thinking this will help with uplift and give a great look. I am thinking of still running a normal ridge beam and over framing the upper open roof structure.

Timber frame patio cover

Framing a cover over part of our patio and working on design now. The longest span between columns/ posts is 16’. I am looking at 6x12 Douglas fir timbers for the beams.
Does this seem to be adequate.
The existing columns are 6x6 and I am debating about wrapping these to give a larger appearance install a Simpson bracket at the top of the post then allow the 2x to run up along side the beams for extra added support.
In my opinion this could be a belt and suspenders option.
I welcome thoughts.

Timber frame patio structure

Looking for help. Can 4 x 6 rafters be placed further than 24” oc if the roof decking is going to be 2x6 then covered with plywood. I will install collar ties at each rafter. Thanks in advance.

New Covered Patio Structure

I am looking to build a covered patio structure. This is going to be replacing a pergola where all of the beam and purlin members are rotted. The vertical support structures are 6 x 6. The main part of the structure will be approximately 19’ x 14’.
The bottom of the posts have a stone like structure around them that will now get a concrete cap for seating. I am thinking of wrapping the columns with 2 x material to make them look heavier. I am thinking the main beams will be 6 x 12 or multiple 2x material glued and screwed. I was thinking the rafters could be 4 x 6 timbers at 4’ o.c. Because the roof decking is going to be 2x6 with plywood on top of that, I can’t see if that rafters framing spacing is acceptable. I plan to have collar ties at each of the rafters and a vertical member at the open ended rafters. I am not sure if I should have steel connections or wood straddle along side the 6x12 beams with the added vertical members.

Looking for replacement router collet

I have an older blue Ryobi handy trim router model TR-3OU and I am looking for a replacement 1/4” collet. I have been searching Amazon, and other online locations.
The reason I am looking is because I recently had a bit start slipping out of the collet during the process of making a pass causing a deeper cut. I was able to correct the situation but extremely frustrating. I presume the collet was bad. Cleaned everything out but it performed in the same manner.
