2026 - The Do it All Machine

All videos posted in a span of last 3-7 days, highlighting Himalayan as an all rounder bike. None of these creators disclosed that these are paid videos. No negative stuff, just pure PR language. How easy to buy these creators, and make them say stuff you want. I absolutely love Himalayan 450 for what it delivers at that price point but these videos make zero sense.

We should question these YouTubers, whom we trust before buying a new bike on how easily Money can bend their opinions, and and the most surprising part is that all these YouTubers seem quite genuine, but after getting money from the brand, no one disclosed, these are paid videos.

Budget: 3-3.5 lakhs

Height Over 6 feet, mid 20s

I live in rural Haryana and it means that there is absolutely no city use involved. I use my car for commuting and this bike will only be for fun rides, both short and long ones.

Pretty experienced as a rider, have done some real long trips previously, although didn’t ride a bike in past 2 years.

Don’t care about maintenance, FE, and other expenses as such. Will be riding 5-6 k kms in a year max.

I am mostly a calm rider, but do like to like fast once in a while. Will only be riding in good weather only, like from September-December. Feb-April.

Now comes the main part, Him 450 VS Scrambler 400X (350cc)

Scrambler 400X will cost just about 3 lakhs, I like the fit and finish, stance, looks good to me. The only gripe is the nearest SC is around 200 km away in Gurgaon/Ambala/Delhi. Although I travel to GGN at-least 2 times a month, but that is in my car. Don’t mind travelling with bike once/twice a year but I am concerned that frequent issues may pop up with Triumph and then I can’t travel every now and then just for sorting niggles. I mean I don’t have that kind of liberty. Seating felt quite comfortable. Suspension felt good.

Himalayan 450 will be around 70-80k more expensive with tubeless spokes. It feels bulky/top heavy but seat was equally good as Scrambler 400X. Power felt adequate. Suspension felt more plush than Scrambler 400X.

Now comes the main part, is it worth to spend that extra 70-80k for Himalayan with my kind of usage pattern? Need advice from experienced folks who were in similar dilemma or own one of these two bikes.

My bike will mostly be a garage queen, atleast for 3-4 months in a year.

Lastly, one of my friend suggested me to rent a bike for trips, instead of spending such a big amount. I like his idea and makes financial sense but the feeling of owning a bike is different which fellow riders will agree to. What do you guys think about this renting thing?
