Why is Purestorage rated so poorly on Glassdoor and Ambitionbox

Why is Purestorage rated so poorly on Glassdoor and Ambitionbox

I got an offer from Purestorage last week. The offer is really good (compensation wise) this is for a tech role.

But before accepting i looked up online at Ambitionbox and Glassdoor. I was shocked to see the rating is really bad. Just curious is it really bad.

For instance i know a few companies which are known/famous to have bad work environment but somehow purestorage is rated even worse.

Can an insider share any insights?

Gurgaon Appreciation Post

Recently went to Bangalore for the first time due to some work. The weather there was great, not just the temperature but there's slow breeze and sun ain't too bright everything seemed perfect.

But the commute there is miserable. Everyone in india whether from tech or non tech background have heard about the traffic in bangalore. But upon witnessing it in real, it was simply the worst.

I used to hear from my friends in bangalore that they seldom meet or go out together. And as someone living in gurgaon this felt strange, but now i know why. Going from one place to another in bangalore is such a hassle, anyone would avoid it.

Witnessing this actually made me appreciate gurgaon. The commute(Metro, availability of autos) here is actually decent. Mostly commute within the city or to delhi isn't such a big hassle. There are many bad things about this city but atleast i can freely visit my friends without having to worry about getting stuck in traffic.

Reality about Amazon work culture

We hear a lot of bad things about Amazon's culture, the PIP rules, work pressure and all those things.

But despite that Glassdoor, Ambitionbox ratings of Amazon aren't that bad. Is Amazon's culture isn't that bad as they we regularly hear or what is it really.

I know they pay very well(i think even better than Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe). I see most of my college batchmates who joined Amazon are still there and are not really looking for a switch.

Anyone from Purestorage (Everpure), need company review.

Hi,

Any current or former employee or Purestorage(Everpure). I'm expecting an offer from them but the companies reviews on Glassdoor seem to be mixed many people are saying they have Hire-Fire sort of policy.

Any personal experience or reviews from friends would be highly appreciated.

Also wanna know about the WFH policy, if i need to visit my hometown do i need to take PTO or can i get WFH?

( From glassdoor reviews it looks like the culture and all is like Amazon or even worse.)

Q4 Results

Considering the fact that Oracle is targeting to raise another 40B in debt in FY27, is it okay to assume there'll be another mass layoff round?

Please tell me I'm missing something here.

Also last time there was some data about budget allocated for restructuring activities couldn't find anything like that this time. Any idea why or does it come out later?

AI for Studying/Interview Prep

I keep hearing a lot of people nowadays are using AI to prepare for interviews and studying DSA, System Design, etc.

When i use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude (this is still better). I keep feeling that there responses are not complete and they don't really give a sense of completion.

For example today if i want to study Segment trees if i go ask ChatGpt or Gemini. There responses are not that good.

Am i using them wrong? Are there any other sites/app (free)? Or some prompts which gave you good results?

Or all those posts/reels just clickbaits and marketing tactics.

TIA

FinTech vs Product Based companies in the current market

Does anyone else also feel that in the current market Fintechs are much more stable than most product based companies. Every big product based company have had layoffs in past 1 year.

But i can't recall any fintech doing major layoffs.

Is it that PBCs are currently under immense pressure to productize AI and generate AI revenue stream because that's what investors want?

Once productization completes the layoff cycle moves towards Fintech?

To be clear by fintech i mean:

Goldman Sachs

JPMC

Amex

Visa

Blackrock

Deutsche Bank

(That's all i can think on top of my head)

The purpose of the post is basically - should we target Fintechs than PBCs?

Advice needed on Offer from Arista

Current: US-based semiconductor firm | 17 LPA |

Offer: Arista Networks | 28 LPA

YOE: 4

The Confusion:

I got an offer from EOS team last week. Though the 60% hike is great, but I’m worried about the "Networking domain Trap". I’ve spent sometime in C++ and systems, but I’m seeing the demand for Python/AI rising with much more opportunities.there.

I want opinions on:

  • Exit Options: If I do 3-4 years in EOS (L2/L3 protocols, ASIC drivers), am I stuck in the Cisco/Juniper/Broadcom loop forever? Or will i have more opportunities/options? I don't want to specialize in a domain which doesn't have much demand.
  • The Stack: Should I take the money, or stay back and try to pivot to a Python/AI stack? Considering pivoting to Python because other option is Java but getting Java work-ex is much more difficult.
  • EOS Culture: If anyone from this team can guide on how this team actually operates and the growth potential?
  • The Money: Is 28L fair for 4 YOE at Arista or am I being lowballed?

TL;DR: 10L hike to join Arista EOS. Is the domain too niche for future growth?
