Hi so after months of debate I’ve decided I want to get a tarantula. I originally wanted to get an Arizona blonde because I live in AZ and grew up seeing them in the wild. Issue is most reputable reptile/exotic pet shops that I know won’t carry them because so many of them are wild caught. Especially living in Arizona, most of them probably are wild caught which I don’t want to support.

So my other picks would be a Brazilian black, Chaco golden knee, or curly hair (what I’ve seen are the most beginner friendly). But what are the typical prices for these? I want a female because they live longer, but I’ve seen that confirmed females end up being $200+. So would I be better off getting a sling?

I’m not open to buying from chain stores like petsmart because I don’t want to support buying animals from them.

I’m going to an expo this month and next month, so I just want a general idea on how much I should save.

(Also everyone on this sub seems so nice… I may have been lurking around for a hot minute lmao)

Title. Plan on upgrading my girl to a full sized enclosure in a few months when shes bigger and I’m curious which brands have held up for you guys.

The pet stores in my area typically sell Zoo med, Exo terra, Zilla, Thrive, and Reptizoo. I plan on making a bioactive enclosure btw.

Which of these brands would you recommend and why? Or is there another brand available in the US you’d rec? My budget is $300 - $400, thanks yall🙏

That’s it. Devs plz fix the game it crashes at least once an hour. 💔😔 love the game otherwise bought the game like a week ago so idk if this is a new issue.

So 2 questions.

1. I’m trying to use tampons now and I have no issue getting them in or anything, but when I pee the bottoms half fills with pee. Yes I move the string and I’ve tried a few tricks I’ve seen in the sub. I’m pretty sure it’s deep enough as I put it in until I can barely hold it to push the rod part (think Tampax length). So past that part you hold. Is my anatomy just not built for tampons or am I doing something wrong?

2. I have a hormone imbalance YES DOCTOR CONFIRMED NO NOT PCOS MY OBGYN CHECKS FOR IT AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR (emphasis on this cuz for some reason ppl on this app think you’re lying😭). Anyway I was on depo from 9-13, then BC pills up until recently cuz depo like stopped working. And now I’ve stopped BC pills because when I’m on them I’m easily agitated/irritated and constantly snapping and in a bad mood.

So I’m wondering if anyone has any natural ways to help with my hormone imbalance or at least its symptoms. I usually go about 6months no bleeding 6months straight bleeding so. I have asked my doctors and their solution is just some form of birth control because quality healthcare and solutions for women doesn’t exist it seems🥲.

I’m looking at getting a PVC enclosure for my gecko because they hold humidity better and don’t get as hot as glass (I live in AZ so heat is an issue). But I’ve been seeing people say that PVC is toxic, so should I get a glass enclosure? And if I get glass, what’s a good way to block out heat?

Long story short there are a select few games I want to play, but I’m not a big enough Nintendo fan to drop more than $250 on a Nintendo console alone. Switch lite seems ideal for me and can play the games I want, question is do they still hold up in 2026? Do they still get (and will the continue to get) software updates if needed or things like that.

I’m just hesitant because knowing my luck I’ll buy one and suddenly Nintendo will blow them all up from their secret lair.

Anyway could lite owners give me some 2026 pros/cons. And do you think I should buy new, or is it safe to buy a refurbished one from Nintendo/GameStop/best-buy? (Sorry if I used wrong flair idk how to remove it)

Edit: also how easy/difficult is it to get them repaired if need be, like for drift etc? I’d hate to buy something that’s a pain to get fixed.
