porfavor recomiendenme

Why does kde plasma uses more ram then workstation?

Genuine question, i'd been distro hopping for a little bit and wanted to see the difference of workstation and kde plasma on fedora, and i saw that Gnome uses more cpu resources on my laptop and desktop but uses just 1.5gb of ram on idle on a fresh install, hell, even in a live boot session.

But then i try kde plasma and uses less cpu resources but has a ton more ram, 2.6gb of ram, now, that might not sound like a lot, but most distros are around just 1.5gb of ram. Also, i think kde plasma uses ram for efficiently then gnome which might not be too bad, but then i see discussions that Kde plasma is more lighter then gnome on other reddit posts but... that was more then a decade ago???? Now its like the complete opposite. I want to know why, i tried to look why kde plasma on fedora takes so much ram, i tried kubuntu, kde neon, cachyos, they all uses kde plasma and none uses 2.5, always 1.5gb or ram. Only fedora is affected. And cannot comprehend why.

recommendations for extension cables for CPU cable

So i upgraded my psu with a generic 600w Acteck, i know its not the best but its much better then the previous one i had, at least it has some protections... And it works great for now, also got a new Ocelot case (you can already tell im not the best picking parts). Im preparing for a dedicated gpu, not too powerful, but i have a micro atx motherboard, and just noticed the cables barely reach where im suppose to connect them because of how the case is designed and how short the psu cables are, i manage to connect the 24 pin one, but the 4 pin cable for the CPU is the problem, the cables just cannot reach where they are suppose to, so im thinking about a cable extension.

Can you guys recommend me something so its good quality and does not fry my motherboard?

it says it has to do with nvidia drivers but im on a laptop with a ryzen 3 3300u... can someone help?

i want to try kde plasma on fedora or kubuntu but can't decide

hey, i'd been on linux for a year now, i was using linux mint cinnamon on a desktop and i have a gateway laptop with a ryzen 3 and 8gb (7.2 usable) of ram and 128gb of nvme, i had the perfect opportunity to use it as a guinea pig since it was using windows 10 and decided to install fedora 44 with kde plasma, i was testing it with linux mint as well just to see which distro is less heavy on resources but then i set my eyes on kubuntu because it has debian packages, something im familiar with, not to mention its a lot less heavy which is perfect for this laptop. Fedora uses 2.5gb of ram on idle and Kubuntu uses 1.5gb idle, both from a live usb or already installed on the laptop, don't know why tho.

Both uses Wayland (no idea what that is), and Plasma 6.6, but Fedora says its for newer hardware and i cannot say that a ryzen 3 is NEW per say not to mention it uses ddr4 on ram, IT RUNS WELL but i have some issues with a lot ram usage and buggy discover store, i'd seen a lot of people on the internet while i was doing research that they don't recommend Kubuntu because of snaps, something about being closed software, being slow and other stuff, which goes against the spirit of linux i guess.

is it worth it to keep using fedora for the cutting-edge software on this laptop like they advertise or is it too much and should i use kubuntu instead and ignore the snaps stuff? Maybe im overthinking it too much, BOTH RUN REALLY WELL, i use the laptop for daily internet browse, discord and light gaming on steam, like terraria, cave story or stardew valley with friends and other games with proton while i travel.

Sorry for the bad english in advance.
