2022 Ram 2500 Megacab… how often should I do oil changes?

Moved to CA a few years back and finally decided to sell my beloved 2008 3500 I’ve had since 2009. It was deleted and the quad cab for my 3 boys and wife was getting tight.

Found a 2022 Ram Megacab bighorn with 12K miles for 51K. Black interior, 8.4 uconnect and it’s a huge upgrade over my 08 Laramie quad cab!

I use it to tow a 5th wheel like 2x a year, ski trips and a summer trip. So it doesn’t get tons of miles. Maybe 5-7K/year.

How often should I change the oil? Did it once this year. I know some guys go 10-15K, I did on my old truck but it didn’t have these hydraulic lifters the internet tells me I should fear!

Changed the fuel filters/oil at 17.5K today. Pretty easy aside from the damn oil filter. I was hoping they would move that somewhere that makes sense but it’s still kinda dumb. Channel locks removed it easy enough but still managed to spill some trying to get it out the little hole from the passenger side wheel well.

Wild they want like 350-500 dollars to change the oil and fuel filters on these hogs. It’s not that hard.

Any landscaping companies suggestions for aging parents in the Black Hills?

My folks are in their 70s, refuse to move but physically can not take care of their yard. It’s 1.5 acres that need mowed/trimmed in the Rockerville area near Cosmos Mystery Area.

Just looking for suggestions on who I could hire to come out 2x a month to do lawn care and maybe snow removal here and there in the winter.

I live 1000 miles away. My sisters are in the area but don’t seem to help much unfortunately.

Anyone else kinda FIRE by accident!?

I’ve always had high paying jobs (specialized trades) and combine that with being boring…

I’ve always bought homes, never sold them. Own 4 now and rent 2 out. If I had money I didn’t need I just put it in VOO.

Suddenly here I am at 43 with 3M networth and 1.7M invested. Can’t fully retire yet, but probably in 3-5 years. (Still maxing 401k, backdoor Roth IRA, and 2-3K/Mo in VOO.

Like nobody ever really taught me about investing. I just stumbled on someones comment on a forum online and took their advice with ETFs and maxing 401ks. I daily drive a 30 year old car I’ve had for 15 years. When I was younger when I got a decent savings I’d buy a home, live in it and slowly update it on my own. Then rent it out and buy another home and do the same.

To this day most of my friends and family think I generally do well, but probably have no idea I’m pretty much set up to retire comfortably in a VHCOL area.

Kinda baffling I’ve amassed this much and I’m basically a moron. Amazing what living within your means, investing the excess and luck/timing do for you (bought all my homes but prior to 2020)

Not too bad for growing in up a midwest trailer park in extreme poverty.

Put a system in my LS400

I’ve had this car since 2013 ish and bought it for 2K. It’s my daily driver now and just wanted CarPlay, hands free and some decent sound. Decided on the sub on the rear deck instead of box since i commonly fill up the trunk.

  • Pioneer DMH3050NEX, plus backup camera, headliner mic and dashcam (Deleted factory amp, CD Player and car phone, Didn’t use any adapters, just ran new wires everywhere, wasn’t too bad Lexus actually has nice raceways everywhere with room; they just suck to get to.)

  • Amp - Kicker CXA400.1 (ruined the cheap Amazon one first bought in the pic because I’m colorblind! Haha)

  • Front - Kicker 46CSS654

  • Rear - Kicker 46CSC654

  • Sub - Kicker 48CWR82. Made a little cradle out of MDF for it and put stripes of dyna mat here and there on both sides of the rear deck. Put everything back and it looks factory still.

  • Didn’t get pics of the doors, wasn’t too bad once I found all the hidden places Lexus puts screws.

Definitely a huge improvement and makes the car feel like new!

Called a few shops and they don’t want to work on it. I don’t have free time anymore. Need to get it back to being my daily driver.

Just wanting the timing belt, front end gone through and maybe new plugs and stuff. I’ve already done the steering box, power steering pump and hoses, new stereo, radiator and hoses and fuel pump myself.
