Yesterday i got curious about which characters survive the most and which survive the least in Last Defense Academy, so I decided to count which ones survive and where.

Only after I finished collecting all of the data I found out that a similar post was made over a year ago, But since mine tracks every ending individually and we got different results for how much each character survived (and also I already went though all of the effort to get the data), I figured this is still worth posting.

Now to the data:

Raw data (a link to the google sheets will be included)

Good/Bad are only internal names for survived/died, they don't mean good/bad ending or good/bad character. More specifically:

• If a character is labeled as "Good", that means that they survived until the time loop occurs (so until day 100 or when the playable character(s) die).
• If a character is labeled as "Bad", that means they did not.
• If a character is labeled as "Unknown", that I did not have enough info to determine (without reasonable doubt) whether they survived or not.

That was a lot of info to read, so I decided to visualize it:

Nozomi has the highest survival rates, yet she still survives less than 2/3 of the times (63%), while Darumi is the lowest, with only 30% survival chances.
Almost all characters are more likely to survive than to die, (Everyone except: Gaku, Kurara, Kiyoshika, Eito, Eva, and Darumi; with Gaku being split equally between the two)
Eva by far has the biggest amount of Unknown fates. Looking at the spreadsheet, this is because in the Romance route we missed the fight against her and after we woke up Takumi never thought about that.

I was also interested in how deciding Eito's fate changes the survival rates, so i checked that too:

Interestingly, Darumi and Kiyoshika both have better chances of surviving when killing Eito.
This is probably because of the fact that in the Spare-Eito branch most of the endings are locked behind sacrificing Kiyoshika and not saving Darumi.

And while were at it, if we check the average number of deaths for each branch:

Unsurprisingly, If you choose to kill Eito more people tend to die.

Clarifications:

2. This counts each ending as equal, which might not be the best representation of the survival rates. For example, in endings 094-096 (Mystery Route) Takumi fails to figure out who killed Shouma. We skip to day 100 and he needs to choose between himself, Nozomi, or Moko. regardless of his choice he ends up dead, but we still count that as 3 different deaths instead of 1 inevitable death. If you want to count them as one, you can create a copy of the google sheets and do so
3. I sometimes used 'Unknown' even when I could have reasonably guessed if the character is alive, so keep that in mind. I have included the sheets link so you can just create a copy and edit it.
4. Characters infected by a G'ie queen (Kako-G, Takumi-G, etc.) are considered alive here, but the 'zombies' are not.
5. I am pretty sure I collected accurate data for all routes except for Box of Calamity, Box of Blessings, and Conspiracy, since I was in a hurry when I checked them.
6. I originally planned on also including V'ehxness and Shion but then realized that this would make the data collection way harder.
