Chapter 2: Kael Virelli — The Game of Bluffs (Rate the chapter 2)
Act II Kael Virelli.
-Hey so i found some cards on the ground, are they yours? Kyle asked, showing me my deck.
-Yeah, these are mine. Hey, do you guys wanna play a quick round of poker? I asked, hoping for some easy money.
-Yea, we could play. Said Ashley.
-Alright I will put out the table and cards, you take care of the campfire and a place to sleep. But i have to warn you, I’m the greatest poker player in the realm
While we were preparing for the poker game I started thinking Ashley agreed instantly the rest just went after her. Was she a real opponent? Or did she just want to have some fun? Anyways, I'm not losing to anyone, not in my game.
-The table is done. Let’s play! I said inviting them to the game.
-Alright let’s make some money! Krane said clearly excited.
We sat at the table and looked at our cards. I had an 8 of hearts and a 3 of spades.
-I raise. Said Thorne. putting 20 silver coins on the table.
His tone was calm, but something felt unsure. There was a king of spades on the table too, so I had literally nothing.
-I call. Said everyone. I can’t back down not after what i said
2 more cards are shown, wait… an ace, and a queen!? and both were spades! Are you kidding me!? If anyone has a ten, ten of spades exactly, that’s an easy royal flush. Now I'm really in deep shit.
-I raise. Said Ashley, pushing her chips worth 30 coins.
-Kyle frowned then folded. throwing his cards away.
-I call. I said hoping I can play them.
-I fold too, said Thorne.sliding his cards away.
Now it’s just me and the assassin. The last two cards are shown it’s a 6 of hearts. Okay, alright it’s not a straight flush. I thought, and then a jack of spades. If she has a 10, 10 of spades she beats me, and, and I lose.
-I raise! I said not putting any money
-How much? She asked.
-ALL IN! What am I doing? Have I completely lost my mind? I’m throwing away 300 Silver coins. Why isn’t she saying anything? Goddammit say something! She wouldn’t move, not even a finger. She looked at me with her empty black eyes, it was kind of unsettling.
-I fold. She said, slowly putting away her cards.
No way I did it! I played them!
-I knew it. I had nothing. I said trying to sound as calm as possible
-So much for my flush. She said regretting her choice.
-well, what are you gonna do? Right?
-Okay, team, let's go to sleep. We got a big fish to catch tomorrow. Kyle said making sure we will be ready for tomorrow's hunt.
