Came to my door offering a lower electricity bill of being a fixed rate of $200 while eliminating my current electric company's cost. Along with tree removal and equipment install free. Has anyone encountered him before? Too good to be true?

First Day. Love it, but repair curse is real.

6 month lurker on here since searching for my first house to own. Just bought 2 weeks ago. Spent last weekend deep cleaning and prepping for today's move.

Sellers left the kids room with stickers that peel off a layer of the wall. I thought whatever, got some advice from reddit then a painter contact. Scrapped off the loose chips around the wall. First coat done and ready to be sand and primed.

Next came my compressor was shutting on and off every few minutes. Luckily my career is hvac, so I took a look and found the contactor worn out as pulling in wasn't always making contact internally. No big deal I went to a supply house and replaced it.

Now moved in and removed the seller's left washer and the cold was hose snapped while the connection was rusted. Home depot ran at 9pm and repaired while my buddies helped looking up the correct parts, tools needed, and replaced the rusted cold water valve.

Lesson learned is if you think people exaggerate on buying a house comes with a hidden cost of repairs. Prepare now for the unexpected.
