Eye injury post Lasik resulting in striae?

Has anyone dealt with this issue? I got a 4mm scratch across my cornea a month ago (1 month post op), and now the swelling has gone down enough for the doctor to see that there are striae across my field of vision which are resulting in persistent blurriness.

It's frustrating as hell. I'm doing muro at night to help with the fluid build up, and steroids three times a day. I've got a follow up in six weeks monitor progress and determine if there are any potential physical treatment options.

Looking for advice and hopefully shared experiences. Trying not to get discouraged.

Corneal wrinkle re-floating and "mini" PRK abrasion to smooth out cornea (24hr after LASIK)

Hey guys. As the title suggests I had LASIK surgery yesterday. Woke up this morning with noticeable glare in one eye and during my 24hr checkup the doctor discovered cornea wrinkles. The doc and a corneal specialist refloated the cornea but couldn't smooth the wrinkles out so I ended up having a light version of PRK (epitheal debridement, I think?) on the eye and a contact lens put in. My next follow up is Monday.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I hope I'm using the right terminology here, and that what I described makes sense. If you had that happen to you, how was your recovery and did you end up having 20/20 vision in the eye?

This was not on my bingo card, so I'm pretty lost and worried.

PRK v. Lasik?

As the post says, I'm hoping to get some feedback (hopefully from an eye doc or two) on which is the preferred route. I just got a surgery date from Walter Reed and the doc there pushed PRK really hard. I'm eligible for both, though my corneas are on the thinner side, and and my prescription is fairly mild. Kind of worried about the recovery time and after effects.

My job is all computer based too, so that's a factor.

Any advice or recs would be appreciated. I used the search function and didn't get recent content.

I'll have a grilled chicken salad with a side of valium to keep the nerves calm.

EV Mode unavailable - high voltage battery is low? Brand new Crosstrek Hybrid Limited.

Hi everyone! I just picked up my brand new Crosstrek Limited Hybrid today! Just tried to press the EV mode button and I'm getting an error about the battery. Is that normal? First ever subi and hybrid, so I'm lost and Google isn't helping.

Anyone know what's up before I call the dealership tomorrow?

Help me survive: Night time waking and screaming for mom/dad help

I have a freshly minted two year who used to be an absolute dream sleeper. All of a sudden she is fighting sleep like there's no tomorrow and waking at night screaming for mom and dad. Comforting her an putting her down doesn't work, she keeps asking and confirming we're still in the room every 5-10 minutes. We tried sleeping in the room with her but that's not sustainable in the long run.

She has two stuffies and we've tried to explain to her that they sleep with her and keep her safe. She has soft and peaceful music playing along with a little red light so the room isn't fully dark.

Crying it out doesn't work. We tried that and all she does is scream for us and jump around her crib.

Seriously at the end of my rope here and I don't know what to do.

How to deal with shitty leadership, spotlight rangers and mediocre OERs? (FG edition)

So... Entering the field grade ranks and seeing the backstabbing that goes on and the politics people play for MQs. Not used to dealing with this crap and not having my work speak for itself. Got any advice?

Might be a dumb question but here goes: anyone get diagnosed with high cholesterol while in the Army? Did you get meds and did affect your deployability or assignment options?

I pass ht/wt easily without tape, and I PT, so it's not just a case of "lose weight."

I'll have some baked tofu, and a side of steamed veg ...
