My tiger lotus is blooming!
Had to open up the back of my tank to let it out. Can’t wait until it’s fully open!

It was pretty high up there, almost didn’t catch it until it was right overhead. What is it? I can tell it has a pusher prop setup, but I’m hardly knowledgeable on plane models and even more so on small planes.
Foam was GONE as you can see on the 25 year old OEM sub. I’d already re-foamed the other speakers, but this one wasn’t worth it to me. Not a bad install after some soldering to get the 8 ohm dual voice coil sub to 16 ohm to match stock.
I figured I’d give it a shot in the SC430. 97k miles and I know from doing the valve cover gaskets at 95k when I purchased it that there is a bit of varnish on the top end.
Seems to be an extremely favorable oil! The other stuff in the pic is for my Mercedes - 9 quarts of 5W-40 for the beast.
My 2002 just rolled 97k miles. Timing belt looked solid when in purchased it in August of 2025 with 95k miles, but I have no evident of a change (no sticker under the hood). I’ve done all another maintenance so it’s time to get it done!
Looking forward to the weekend project and putting a lot more worry free miles on her!

In my next step of ownership, I had wanted to change out the HID bulbs for a fresh pair. The old ones didn’t seem bad, but given they were likely the originals and they dim over time, it was a good update.
While I was taking everything apart, I updated the rest of the front end lights as well. Stock Philips HID’s upgraded to Osram Xenarc cool blue boost. They were the highest lumen output in multiple tests while still remaining 35W.
I swapped the high beams from the original and very crusty 9005’s to pure yellow Nokya bulbs.
Fog lights changed from the halogen H3 to Sealight LED H3’s. Nice and pure white to match the rest of the new lights up front.
The turn signals were updated to Auxito 7440 canbus LED’s with built in resistors. They work perfectly! No hyper flash!
The other city light and side markers were swapped to Auxito 194’s.
Cleaned her up today. Full wash, fine machine polish and a ceramic coat. Not much to talk about since I’ve last ever posted. Oil change, a new coolant reservoir cap for the intercooler, and a new set of rear tires due to a puncture that would not seal despite multiple rope and then tire off interior plugs.
Thinking about potentially getting some new wheels for her at some point, but we’ll see!
