SRT 102 light cell loose, looking for advice

I’m going through this camera I picked up and giving it a good cleaning and adjustment, I’m finding one of the light meter cells on the prism is loose. I’m looking for advice on what is safe to use to clean the old epoxy and what is recommended to reapply it? Since it’s on the prism I don’t want to risk damaging the black coating or using anything that may hinder the photocell.

I have on hand contact cement, superglue, and E6000.

Trouble finding a replacement for this vacuum part Holley 94/7RT carb for a flathead V8

This little nozzle in my fingers that screws into this Holley 94/7RT for a ford F-1 Flathead V8 for the vacuum line, I cannot figure out where to find a replacement/what it is called/part number?

For context, the truck was having issues starting, timing was ok and spark was sparking so I rebuilt the original carb that was on the truck and found that this nozzle was in a little wonky/sideways/was maybe rethreaded to fit. It was my grandfathers truck and he has passed so I can’t ask him what happened unfortunately but there was some sealant applied around the threads.

Anyway, I bought a replacement carb (shown in picture) and was going to clean and swap the middle section into the “old” one. The old nozzle for the vacuum line won’t thread into the “new” one.

So, I’m looking for information on where I might find a proper replacement for this small component.

Minolta MD 70-210 f4 focus ring issue

I purchased an “excellent” condition Minolta MD 70-210 f/4 lens from KEH. I’m starting the return process but I am curious if anyone has had this issue with this lens and if it is an easy fix. For some background on my experience I’ve completely taken apart, cleaned, and greased the helicoids of a few FD and MD mount prime lenses so I’m not totally clueless on lens repair, but zooms are intimidating to me.

The symptoms: the lens is usually locked to 2.5m to infinity at all focal lengths (despite having a minimum non-macro focus of 1.1m I believe). It is not focused at infinity, it seems to be a bit short of it. Additionally sometimes the focus ring “breaks loose” and will go past the limits for infinity or the macro focusing lengths but with minimal effect on the actual focus through the viewfinder. Spinning the focus ring around to infinity again will lock it back to the limited 2.5m to infinity range.

I’m curious if there might be something loose that is simple to get to. The elements of the lens are very clean, no haze or fungus, so if it’d be an easy repair I wouldn’t be opposed to repairing and keeping it rather than returning it and finding a replacement since it was pretty cheap otherwise. This is the second time I’ve bought vintage gear from KEH that was rated as “excellent” but wasn’t so I’m a little disappointed.

Do the diaphragm blades seem slightly stopped down at wide open on this MD 35-70 f/3.5?

I picked up this MD 35-70 f/3.5 online, however the diaphragm seems slightly stopped down when the lens is set to 3.5 both on and off the camera. I’m not familiar with this lens but no other lens I own does this so I wanted to ask here to see if I should see about either trying to fix it or get a return. I’ve worked on a few Minolta prime lenses but not sure I’d feel comfortable cracking open a zoom.

*I did what I should have done when first noticing this and adjusted the zoom while observing the blades to see they move as focal length changes, I feel like a dummy. Thanks for the help!

[S][USA-OH] Canon A-1 & Minolta X700

Hi all,

I am selling two cameras that I recently repaired but don’t need. I can share a simple repair summary with you through PM if you’d like to see that. Pictures of both cameras can be seen in the below link.

https://imgur.com/a/9eByluU

Canon A-1
Initially the shutter did not fire but this was simply due to dirty magnets. Camera was given a general CLA, including meter and shutter speed adjustments. Heavily brassed and significant cosmetic wear, most of which is on the baseplate and the edges of the top cover where a camera strap would rub. Functionally in good condition. Asking $80 + shipping for just the camera body + body cap.

Minolta X700 SOLD!
The camera had faulty ALEC capacitors which were replaced. Camera was given a general CLA including shutter speed and meter adjustment. Cosmetically in pretty good shape, minor scratches and some brassing on the rewind lever screw, but functionally in good condition. There’s still a plastic base plate cover on the camera that I did not remove when cleaning, you can remove it if you find it unsightly. Asking $70 + shipping for just the camera body + body cap.

I also have an MD 50mm f/2 that I cleaned but it is showing early signs of Schneideritis that I wouldn’t have seen without disassembling the lens. It also has a couple of minor scratches on the front element. Otherwise it comes with front and rear caps and works as intended. I would include it for an extra $5 with the Minolta camera if interested.

Payment handled through PayPal Goods and Services, shipping via USPS unless buyer has a preference.
