hello!! i'm an incoming freshman in the pharmacy program, and i'm just curious as to how the scheduling process is? I know other people make their own schedule, however i believe incoming students in the emsop program have theirs made differently? also, my orientation is late (july 20) so i'm kinda worried that my classes will be a mess, but again i'm not sure how classes are chosen, so if anybody can share their scheduling process i'd appreciate it sm

so basically for some background i'm currently a silver support main (was previously plat, had a bad loss streak and stopped playing for a bit) but the two main heroes i play are mercy and lifeweaver. i know those are the stereotypical "no skill" characters but i've just genuinely enjoyed mercy's playstyle since i first got overwatch, and lifeweaver's since his release. i've also recently been picking up brigitte because i enjoy playing her a lot as well. however, i'm starting to think i may be holding myself back with these choices. a lot of people reccommend learning kiriko, ana, etc because they have more carry potential in matches, but i don't have much experience on those heroes, so i'm reluctant to just whip them out in the middle of a comp match. would it be worth my while to learn to play someone like ana, for example, instead of brig? or am i just overthinking it and it doesn't matter? i just can't help but notice that most of my friends who are ranked higher than me pick more "meta" characters, and i'm not sure if my character pool is limiting my potential to rank up.
