How do you visualise tier jumping?

This is Bob. Bob is walking down a mountain. When he reaches the ground, I can tier jump.

Anyone else got strategies to inject some whimsy into tier jumping and making it feel less of a slog? Or am I slightly crazy?

Why can't we cash out from the website?

Basically, question is as the title. You can go to the Atlas earth site on your computer, log into your account via google or whatever, and do surveys, book travel, see your land and cash total. However, you can't cash out from the website, you have to do that through the app. I guess they want to make you download the app, but you need the app to do any meaningful progress anyway. It doesn't seem to be a security thing, as you need to have a valid account login

Letting us cash out via the website would be very useful in case something went wrong with our phones. We might not be able to watch ads or use the reward ladder, but we would at least be able to withdraw the cash we had left. And in case of high earning accounts, withdraw whatever new income kept trickling in. That kind of reassurance would be nice

'Stomp Clap Hey' music from the 2000s is not that bad

For clarity, I mean that genre of music that cropped up in the 2000s with ukuleles, banjos, maybe a brass interlude, and usually someone stomping, clapping, or shouting 'Hey!'. Little talks, Ho Hey, Riptide, anything by Mumford and Sons, seemed to be everywhere in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Much-maligned as millennial and cringe, I don't think it deserves its reputation.

For a start, it's popular music that can be pretty easily replicated by anyone who plays an instrument. In a time of hyperpop and synthesisers, it's nice to have music that feels a bit more tangible. Sure, this has led to it being played at probably a billion open mic nights, not helping its 'overplayed' reputation, but there's a reason people turn to it. Likewise, you can actually sing along, everyone knows the words, so it is genuinely a good choice for parties, karaoke nights etc. Sure, this isn't specific to this genre, but it counts in its favour. They can be communal fun, which is one of the points of music.

The lyrics may be described as overly earnest or corny, but I wouldn't say they are any worse than the lyrics of other modern pop songs. They tend to be 'cleaner' than modern pop music, I can think of several that swear but none with overtly sexual lyrics off the top of my head. Instead, the lyrics tend towards nostalgia, which I think has aged them reasonably well- they hit so much differently listening to them as an adult than when you first heard them- you understand them more. Maybe they are 'cringe', but I think there's a place for something bittersweet and sincere in the music landscape. Not everything has to have an 'edge' or be ironic.

To be honest, I think the reason it's looked upon poorly is just its prevalence in advertising and the fact it seemed inescapable, which, whilst it can be annoying, doesn't really say anything about the music itself. Bit of a hyperbole, but even if you blasted a masterpiece by Mozart in a shopping mall 24/7, the people inside would become sick of it. It's also had a reasonable influence on music afterwards- Avicii is what you get when you mix this stuff with dance music. The fact that it is 'overplayed' even now, 10 years later, seems to suggest it has a staying power. I can't say I expect to be hearing much of today's music 10 years later, with a few exceptions.

So yeah, other than it being 'overplayed', I don't see the issue with it. Maybe this is my nostalgia for a Gen Z childhood talking, but I'm honestly surprised that the genre gets so much hate online. I'm not saying it's amazing (though I do have a soft spot for it), just that that dunking on it has become a bit of an unwarranted trend.

(Reposted for name-checking a popular musician who is banned to mention here. It was not a post about her, I just used her as an example and the automod caught it.)

r/micronation voluntary age poll

So, we've all noticed the current prevalence of LARP on r/micronations and people generally acting in a way deemed as 'childish'. Wondering how much of this is due to there being literal children on the subreddit. Nothing against child micronationalists, heck, most of them are a lot more professional than me and I'm an adult. But it might be good to know what sort of age demographics we're actually dealing with here, so that more appropriate responses can be made. Clearly a 10-year-old who declares LARP war from their blanket fort should be handled differently than a manchild LARPing and getting aggressive because someone insulted his flag (hyperbole, but gets the point across). Might be nice to know whether we have more of the former or the latter.

Participation in the poll is entirely voluntary

12 and under - respond with the letter A

12-15 - respond with the letter B

15-18 - respond with the letter C

18-25 - respond with the letter D

25+ - respond with the letter E

The IPK offers a MicroWiki proofreading service

Ahoy there, micronationalists! Made ye MicroWiki page in a rush? English be not ye first language? Or just want a second pair of eyes to check ye page?

The Inland Pirate Kingdom will provide! We believe that the more 'serious' a MicroWiki page looks, the more likely the micronation itself will be taken seriously in the community. Post the link to your page here if you want it to be checked through and edited for spelling and grammar. We will not factcheck or change the content, just improve the legibility of the existing content. If it is already all good, no changes would be made : )

The Inland Pirate Kingdom begins building the IPK Military Archive

Ahoy there!

Today, the Inland Pirate Kingdom has founded its Military Archive, intended to be a collection of downloadable texts relating to crisis response and defense. So far, it contains a crisis survival guide issued by the Polish government, with more on the way. These are not intended for warmongering- the IPK has no standing army, but so that if IPK citizens were involved in a disaster or emergency, they would at least be equipped with advice on how to stay safe.

Some of the texts may be edited before being added to the IPK Military Archive to remove irrelevant information (i.e. specifically Polish emergency call numbers that do not work anywhere else) or macronational military propaganda and recruitment messages. If you want to find the original versions, they are out there on the Internet.

IPK Updates: Environmental Work and a Royal Occasion

Ahoy there maties! Today we bring an update on the Inland Pirate Kingdom's activities in the nearby Aston Wood area. Earlier yesterday, a cleanup operation took place in the woodland and countryside local to the IPK's Fortress Province. In total, since it was formed, the IPK has removed 1.9kg of litter from this area, and we plan to do more in future when possible.

For a more regal pronouncement, today is the Captain's Birthday. I will be celebrating by a trip to Cosford Air Museum and a meal out at Wagamama's. As it is such an occasion, a birthday honour is in order- u/NewAthensGov will be granted membership of the Order of the Golden Anchor if they accept this. This is thanks to their help with setting up the IPK's MicroWiki page.

Who here has a MicroWiki page?

Ahoy there! Genuinely curious, who here is on MicroWiki? Is it something that micronations here are interested in, or is it only for older micronations? Considering joining but I personally am a bit of a Luddite and lack the technology skills to set up a page. However, as I am a registered editor I can help other people once their pages are set up.

Updates from the IPK

Ahoy there! On this day, the monarch Captain Trilinious has temporarily returned to Inland Pirate Kingdom territory from a stay in Germany. Most of the time in the IPK will be spent in Fortress Province, though a visit to Port Friendship in West Wales is likely. It be good to get back onto home soil.

In other news, it is the Captain's birthday soon. A portable solar panel has been requested as a birthday gift, meaning that we may have our own means of generating electricity.

#CyberPsychoSummer- Red Suit

Once a member of a transhumanist cult, Red Suit was requisitioned by the authorities once they saw his potential. Now, his mission is simple- eliminate all those considered undesirable. He quite enjoys it, and the fear that he brings.

The term 'Red Suit' was used as a euphemism for the programme of pressing cyberpsychos into service, and in many cases creating them, due to the amount of reddish exposed muscle that many of them had on display. This example is no exception, and as well as his exoskeleton, he is fitted with bionic eyes and a SYN-mask that gives him a permanent supply of rage-inducing strength. Somewhat of a glass cannon due to his exposed flesh, there are still few who would dare to take him on. And as long as he only targets the unwanted, then who cares? Life goes on.

The IPK's Ionland Referendum

Recently, the Inland Pirate Kingdom have held a referendum on whether we should continue our alliance with Ionland. The winning suggestion is that we will continue the alliance as long as Ionland does not LARP. If Ionland does LARP, then our citizens want to pull out of the alliance. We are willing to cooperate and be friendly with non-serious micronations, but we do not want to be obliged to help them in LARP wars and the like.

This is not a declaration of war, or even some declaration of hostility. It is a declaration that, if Ionland LARPs, then we will consider them as a neutral party, not an ally, not an enemy.

The Inland Pirate Kingdom wishes ye all a happy VE Day

On this day in 1945, Nazi Germany surrendered, causing the Second World War to come to an end in Europe. May this day be a reminder that evil does not win.

And on a less sombre note- a song to celebrate (Contains NSFW lyrics that mock the Nazis) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKp6uD1JAdc

Secondly, in light of ongoing events, we would like to reaffirm our commitment to our War Limitation Act, which came into force on the 19th March 2026 (see picture).
