Where to see Final Grades

My classes end next week, and I’m trying to figure out where final grades show up once professors officially submit them. I also realized I’m not sure where to view my final grades from last semester.

I’ve already checked the “Class Schedule and Grades” pages, but I’m not seeing them there. Is there another place in the GCU portal where official final grades are posted?
Thanks!

I’ve already looked here: class schedule and grades

Could you please share your best study tips for earning A’s in the ABSN program

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.

I will most likely be starting the GCU ABSN program this fall, and I’m feeling both excited and a little nervous. I have understand that the program is very fast paced and challenging, so I would really appreciate any advice from current students or graduates.

Has anyone been able to earn mostly A’s in the program? I completely understand that truly learning and understanding the material is the most important thing, but I would also love to do the best that I possibly can academically.

For those of you who earned A’s or maintained strong grades, would you mind sharing how you studied?

Did you use flashcards, practice questions, study groups, recorded lectures, or any other helpful resources?

I would also be very grateful for any advice about time management, preparing for exams, staying organized, and avoiding common mistakes.

Thank you so much in advance! I truly appreciate anyone who takes the time to share their experience and advice. 😊

Is a W2 from 5 years ago accepted as proof of Social Security number?

Hi Y'all,

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first time donating plasma and I realized I don't have a copy of my Social Security card, because it's with my parents in another state. I haven't worked since 2021 (back when I was in high school), so a W2 from then is the only one I have.

Will that work for BioLife? Or any other plasma centers?

Where can I get GCU nursing scrubs embroidered in San Diego or Tucson?

Hi everyone! I’m starting the nursing program at Grand Canyon University and need to purchase scrubs and have them embroidered according to GCU’s nursing school requirements.

Does anyone know where I can get nursing scrubs embroidered in San Diego? I would also appreciate recommendations for places that are familiar with GCU’s required embroidery.

What is the typical cost per scrub top, and how long does the embroidery usually take?

If the time frame is quick, I can also get them embroidered in Tucson.

Did You Feel Prepared Before Starting the ABSN program?

I’m hoping to hear from current or former students in the GCU ABSN program.

I’m currently finishing Nutrition, Human Development, and Pathophysiology before starting the program. I’ve been earning A’s, but I’m worried that I may not be retaining enough to feel prepared.
In Pathophysiology, I can usually remember what a disease is and understand the basic process, but I struggle with the details. I do not always remember every symptom, which labs would be affected, whether the values would be high or low, or what those changes mean.

Does GCU review these concepts again in classes such as med-surg, pharmacology, pediatrics, and clinicals, or are students expected to know them in detail before starting?

I’m scheduled to begin in September, but I have considered waiting until January because I’m afraid I may not be ready. I want to do well, but I also know it may be unrealistic to memorize every disease, lab value, and symptom beforehand.

For those who have been through the program, did you feel this way before starting? What should I focus on reviewing most?

Looking for a structured handbag that fits a 13” MacBook and 9.25 x 11” notebook

Hi everyone! I’m looking for handbag recommendations that can comfortably fit a 13-inch MacBook, a 9.25 x 11-inch notebook, a water bottle, and a pencil pouch.

I currently use a handbag that I thrifted in Sacramento, and I really love the style and details of it. It has held up well and fits most of what I need, but the main issue is that it does not fit my 9.25 x 11-inch notebook well. When I put the notebook inside, the bag does not zip properly. I’m hoping to find something similar, just a little bigger and more practical for everyday use.

The main thing I’m looking for is a structured bag with a sturdier base. I like that my current bag keeps its shape when I put my laptop inside and doesn’t sag. I’m not opposed to tote bags, but a lot of the ones I’ve seen don’t have the structure I’m looking for, especially when carrying heavier items like a laptop and notebook. I also prefer a bag with a wider base so my pencil pouch and water bottle can fit comfortably, even if they’re lying on their side.

One of my friends recently got a Longchamp bag, and I liked the shape and size, but I would prefer something in leather or suede rather than polyester or canvas. I want something that looks nice enough to use for school, work, and everyday outings.

I attached photos of my current bag, the items I usually carry, and how everything fits inside. I’d really appreciate any recommendations for structured leather or suede handbags that could fit a 13-inch MacBook and a 9.25 x 11-inch notebook comfortably!

GCU ABSN Tucson location: how was it?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here attended the Tucson ABSN location at Grand Canyon University? I don’t hear much about the Tucson site compared to the Phoenix-area locations, so I’d love to hear honest experiences.

How did you like the program overall?
Where were your clinical placements?
Did you feel supported by instructors/staff?
How was the schedule and workload?
Would you choose the Tucson location again?

I’m especially interested in hearing about hospital clinical sites around Tucson and whether graduates felt prepared for the NCLEX/new grad jobs.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I just started at GCU this week, and my counselor told me I should be finished with all of my prerequisites by August 15. I only have 5 classes left to complete.

I was wondering if anyone has been accepted into any of GCU’s ABSN programs in Arizona after applying less than a month before the start date. I’m hoping to start in September, and I’m flexible with any of the Arizona locations since I’ll be coming from San Diego anyway. I would prefer one of the Phoenix-area locations because I have a few family friends there, but I’m open to Tucson too!

I also wanted to ask if there are any specific Arizona sites that tend to fill up less quickly than others.

I also plan on taking my HESI A2 in July.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or gotten accepted on a short timeline? I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Thank you!
