Yarn

Hello! very beginner knitter here, I have only knitted with acrylic yarn from Michaels so far. Im looking to start my first project and im looking for merino wool yarn. Do you recommend going to a local yarn shop for this/showing them the project and getting their advice? Do knitter generally buy local or is buying online maybe more affordable?

Thank you!

Knitting technique name

Im still fairly new to knitting and the other day I was showing my mom my Sophie scarf and she started knitting a few rows and I was so confused by her knitting technique. I've done a lot of searching but I can't find the name of the knitting technique she is using. Does anyone know what it's called?

Similar pattern?

Hi all! I'm a beginner knitter and found a scarf id like to make. I like it because it'll be my first item I can make in the round. Below is the scarf I'd like to make- do you happen to know any that are similar to this one on Ravelry? Thank you!!

beginner knitting advice

Hi all!

I have recently began knitting and really enjoy it. So far I have made a scarf in stockinette and the sophie scarf.

Im wondering about two things

one - what next project/technique would you suggest to start next? I was thinking knitting something in the round??

two - Im wondering when its a good time to buy an interchangeable needle set. I am really enjoying it so I definitely know this is a hobby that I want to continue for the long term. If you have any recs on good needle sets let me know please

if there are any other beginner tips/resources you recommend please let me know and really appreciate it :)
