the reason why iroh invented lightning redirection.

so i was rewatching avatar and i had a thought. why did iroh create lightning redirection? like if you think about it the only reason he would need to create a technique like that is if he was planning on fighting another member of the fire nation royal family since they are the only ones who can lightning bend.

its pretty obvious the only one who iroh would need to use this technique against is ozai so that leaves two possibilities. either iroh developed the technique before azulons death because he thought ozai might attempt to seize the throne from him or he developed it after azulons death because he was at some point planning on seizing the throne back from ozai before eventually giving up on that idea. what do you guys think

personally i think he knew his brother was going to try something and developed the technique to protect himself from ozai. i think when lieu ten died, iroh gave up all interest in the throne and instead decided to put his energy into zuko. that said theirs a good bit of time between lieu tens death and zukos banishment so it is entirely possible that iroh developed the technique during those years.

newbie needs help picking a vr headset from the experts.

so im looking at used vr headsets so i can play star citizen in vr and need help deciding what one is the better buy from the experts.

the first one is a pimax vr lite that comes with all comfort accessories available from studio foam including the counter weight, controllers, and dmas headphone upgrade.

the second is a pimax vr og that comes with  dmas, a comfort strap, and lighthouse and regular faceplates. this headset is also about 200$ cheaper than the crystal lite. however i will have to buy controllers for it.

the main game im buying this for is star citizen so of the two what do you think offers the best value in terms of the features, future proofing, and experience per dollar spent considering the og is 200$ cheaper but i will have to buy controllers for it so i can play other games.

one feature in particular i am curious about is the eye tracking on the og. in star citizen is eye tracking on vr headsets a significant feature or something i will hardly notice not having if i buy the lite (iv never used eye tracking before especially with vr googles so i dont know how important it is)

my pc specs are

processor: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core Processor (4.40 GHz)
ram: 32gb ddr5
gpu: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16 GB)

if aang did not get frozen in the ice berg he likely would have still survived.

so i was rewatching atla and noticed that during the episode the storm the air nomads mention that they were planning on sending aang to the eastern air temple. if this happened then he likely would have survived the fire nations attack on the air temples even if he was not frozen in the ice berg and here is why.

the eastern air temple is geographically the most secure air temple from the fire nation and its not even close. if you look at a map of the atla universe you will see that the eastern air temple is located in a spot where it would have been nearly impossible for the fire nation to launch a surprise attack on it like they did the other air temples and its highly unlikely they invaded it during sozins comet.

to get to the eastern temple the fire nation needs to pass right by the southern water tribe and kyoshi island, then they need to travel through earth kingdom waters for a distance that is greater than the distance from the southern tribe to omashu which took team avatar multiple days to complete. lets assume that the fire nation launched a massive fleet to the southern temple which then split in two with half of them immediately heading to the eastern temple. the southern temple would almost certainly send warning to the eastern temple and as a result the eastern temple would have days to prepare for the invasion. during this time they would almost certainly send aang away for his safety and it just so happens that the safest place in the earth kingdom is about a days journey on bison from the eastern temple (ba sing sei).

so if aang did not get trapped in the iceberg what i think happens is the air nomads send aang to basing sei for his safety while also asking for basing sei to send reinforcements to help defend against the fire nation. ba sing sei probably agrees to take in the avatar but rejects sending the reinforcements and the air nomads are still wiped out. then the fire nation starts launching its attacks against the earth kingdom at which point one of two things happens. either the earth kingdom sends aang to the northern water tribe to learn water bending before he is sent back to basingsei to learn earth bending. or the earth kingdom ignores the proper order of things and teaches him earth bending before requesting a water bender from the northern tribes come to basingsei to teach aang water bending. and then they either send him to the front lines as an incomplete avatar or capture a fire bender and force them to teach aang fire bending. however unless gyatsu succeeded in convincing the other airbenders not to separate aang from him i cant imagine aang gets caught in the initial attack by the fire nation. what do you guys think?

Is all state accidental protection plan worth it for laptops

so im looking to buy a laptop and had questions about every ones experience with the accidental protection plan from allstate.

in the past ive only ever bought laptops from bestbuy and have had great experiences with their accidental protection plans since my claims are painless and rarely if ever denied so long as the damage is actually covered by the protection plan.

if i get the 3 year protection plan and drop and break my laptop 4 years into it (costcos website says first 2 years is covered by costco and then the allstate plan takes effect so this would be 2 years into that) what can i expect. will they fight me tooth and nail to deny my claim or will it be painless like is the case with bestbuy?
