There are so many great community tools, scripts, and plugins for Immich, but it's tough to keep track of everything. Is there an existing list or wiki where they are all collected in one place?

If not, where would be the best place to start one (e.g., an awesome-immich GitHub repo)?

I’ve been following this subreddit for about a year now and love watching the project grow. Lately, I’ve noticed a huge surge in third-party companion tools, forks, and side projects built around Immich.

At first glance, many of these projects look incredible. However, as a casual self-hoster, I’m not a big fan of having to spin up 10 separate containers, configure API keys, and manage varying levels of stability just to get extra features.

It got me wondering: Why do developers choose to build separate applications instead of opening PR to contribute features directly to Immich?

A few thoughts on this:

• Feature Demand: Some community ideas are brilliant, and there are highly-requested features that feel like natural extensions of the platform.
• UI Integration: Couldn't some of these "side projects" live inside existing areas like the "Tools" tab, keeping everything under in one app? (only just webapp first)
• Code Quality: Whether code is human-written or AI-assisted, robust review and QA could help integrate solid community features directly into core.

I completely understand the Immich team’s capacity limits and their focus on maintaining a stable, well-architected application which is obviously crucial. I also haven't designed a massive application like this from the ground up, so I might be slightly naive about the architectural or maintenance challenges involved.

To be clear: this isn't a complaint. I'm just genuinely curious and wanted to start a constructive conversation about how the community and core project interact.

For devs building these companion apps what drives the decision to go standalone vs. opening a PR? And for other self-hosters, do you prefer modular external tools or a unified core experience?

Looking for a reality check on my current e-MTB setup vs. tech depreciation.

My Bike:

• Frame/Motor: Propain Sresh CF (Carbon, L) / Shimano EP6 (no display)
• Suspension: RockShox Zeb Ultimate RC3.1 & Vivid Ultimate RCT
• Brakes/Drivetrain: Magura MT5 / SRAM GX Mechanical
• Dropper: OneUp V3 180mm

I paid €5,266 brand new (with a 25% discount). With the rise of the DJI Avinox system (Amflow, Propain Ekano 3 AL), I’m worried my Shimano EP6 bike will become totally obsolete and impossible to sell in 2–3 years.

I’m debating selling it now while it holds value (~€3.7k used) to swap to a DJI bike. However, DJI options in the €4.5k–€5.2k range have massive component downgrades (entry-level forks/shocks/brakes) compared to what I ride now. To match my current Ultimate suspension and brakes on a DJI build, the price scales past €7.5k.

Questions:

1. Am I crazy for wanting to dump a high-spec carbon bike just to chase the newest motor tech?
2. Will I actually save money on future depreciation by switching now, or will a new bike just lose value even faster?

I went through the migration guide but didn't see any parts that apply to me. So my question is: if I run Immich as a regular Docker service without any special environment variables or tweaks, should it be as simple as pulling the latest image, restarting, and having it work out of the box?

ich verzweifle gerade mit der IMV. Ich habe vor über zwei Wochen meine offizielle Wohnungskündigung per E-Mail geschickt, aber absolut keine Antwort bekommen.

Seitdem habe ich unzählige Male angerufen zu verschiedenen Tagen und Uhrzeiten, aber es hebt einfach niemand ab. Es ist extrem frustrierend, weil meine Frist läuft und ich keine Ahnung habe, ob das überhaupt registriert wurde.

Hat jemand in letzter Zeit ähnliche Erfahrungen mit der IMV gemacht? Gibt es einen Trick, um dort jemanden zu erreichen, oder soll ich zur Sicherheit direkt einen eingeschriebenen Brief (Einschreiben) hinterherschicken, um rechtlich abgesichert zu sein?
