Shifting from pixel to iPhone

Need some honest opinions on a possible phone swap.

Current setup:

Google Pixel 8a (8 months old)

Oppo Watch

MacBook Air M2

Proposed swap:

My father's iPhone 13 (128GB)

Apple Watch SE

About the iPhone 13:

83% battery health (I would replace the battery through Apple)

Never dropped

Never repaired

No water damage

No scratches, dents, or cracks

Basically mint condition physically

Since it's my father's phone, I know its complete history and there are no concerns about hidden issues or unknown repairs.

A few things to keep in mind:

I don't care about AI features.

• I also have a backup Android for apps

I use my Pixel 8a at 60Hz to maximize battery life, so refresh rate differences don't matter to me.

Even at 60Hz, my Pixel 8a is only giving me around 4 hours of screen-on time.

Battery health on the iPhone isn't a concern because I would replace it through Apple.

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of iPhone 13 users reported lag and stuttering on iOS 26. However, from what I've seen online, many people testing the iOS 27 beta are saying the performance issues seem to be significantly improved or fixed.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether this is actually a good trade in 2026.

The Pixel 8a is obviously newer and has much longer software support remaining.

The iPhone 13 is older, but it still seems to have:

Strong raw CPU and GPU performance

Better gaming performance

Excellent video recording

Strong app optimization

Good camera quality

Apple Watch SE included in the deal

So if you ignore AI features and high refresh rate displays, which would you choose:

Pixel 8a + Oppo Watch

or

iPhone 13 + Apple Watch SE

And most importantly, would you personally make this trade in my situation?

Quickshare working very well with my Mac as it now Supports airdrop

I just updated to Android 17 and surprisingly airdrop works great with quick share between my MacBook Air and my Pixel 8a
