ZorinOS pt 2
I have been using it for work all week. TBH I haven't brought myself to use LibreOffice, but google docs has been fine so far.
Sometimes the pc slows down, but I'm blaming that on my laptop currently.
Still wishing C1 worked on it.

SO, boom:
- ZorinOS (Long live this beautiful and stable distro), I have an affinity for MacOS and this gets me really close to that experience, both visually, and feel wise. IYKYK
- For photo editing: RapidRaw, this has so much potential!!! If I was an app developer I'd contribute, I need this to keep growing, and for C1 to notice and bring their butts over to linux.
- For video editong: Good ole Davinci Resolve, enough said. Davinci as it is is better than premiere, please prove me wrong.
This works for me, right now, but I wouldn't complain if we could have photoshop. I know what people say, GIMP is the same, sure but I grew up with photoshop so its like a muscle memory thing.
GAHHHHHH give us more options. I wish I knew enough about programming to just make my own proprietary photoshop just for me.
I hate the fact that adobe is singlehandedly preventing us from successfully abandon windows.
I am on day 6 of ZorinOS I believe. My past experiences include Cachy, Bazzite, Fedora, Nobara, Ubuntu, and Mint. I found out about GarudaOS last night before going to sleep. VERY tempted. Especially with the look of the Desktop environment. But I did pay for Zorin, so I'm holding on strong.

ZorinOS has been the new saving grace for this laptop I have. It feels robust and solid, very stable. However, I can still game. I am a big fan of MacOS so my setup is very similar to a Mac, Please see photo attached. But it feels solid for work, everyday browsing, etc. But also, I feel like I still have the tank I had when I first I got this laptop. It still handles everything I throw at it 🔥
If I had one complaint (which I solved already) the scaling of the system felt small. But through some tweaking on terminal, I was able to solve that.
Also, did not love having to pay for ZorinOS Pro, but it was worth it FOR ME. I think the mileage on whether or not you pay for a Linux Distro varies per person.
Before this I ran ElementaryOS for a few days, but it gave me that Arch, CachyOS feel where I didn't/couldn't feel settled.
Zorin feels like a matured version of that. I get the best of linux with the stability of windows/mac.
If you haven't do try ZorinOS, it legitimately feels like prime Linux, Fedora probably feels that way to their users lol!
I am absolutely surprised that there is not a community for this already. So I created it, I feel like in a bunch of reddit forums about people fleeing to Linux, I come across a bunch of people who are creatives, and don't seem to have a community dedicated to them! But this is it!
I will start first!
As a photographer, I am currently using RapidRaw, and I hope it continues getting better!
As an editor I'm using Davinci Resolve!
And of course, I am currently running r/zorinos
Let me know what you have, and what you use!

I have tried everything from Fedora, Nobara, Chimera, Bazzite, CachyOS, and ElementaryOS. None of them feel as solid as Zorin does, to me at least, very happy with my choice.
