Practicing alone at home and have no idea if my alignment is actually right. Anyone else deal with this?
Been doing yoga for about 4 months but only have time for studio classes maybe once a week. The rest of the time I'm following YouTube videos or just winging it from memory at home.
Problem is, half the time I genuinely don't know if I'm doing the pose correctly. Like is my front knee actually tracking over my ankle in Warrior II, or does it just feel like it is? I can't see myself from the angle that matters.
Had a minor knee tweak a few months back that my instructor said was probably from bad alignment in a pose I'd been doing wrong for weeks without realizing it.
Curious if this is just a me problem or if other home-practicers deal with this too:
* Do you ever feel unsure about your form when practicing without a teacher watching?
* Has bad alignment ever actually caused you pain or injury?
* Have you tried recording yourself to check form? Did it actually help?
* Would something that could flag "hey your hip is rotated wrong" in real time actually be useful, or is that something you'd never trust an app to judge?
Not trying to sell anything, genuinely trying to figure out if this is a real problem worth solving or if I'm overthinking it. Appreciate any honest takes, especially if you think this is a dumb idea.
