Again case from Poland. This time man missing during trip to Hawaii.

Missing Person's Name: Piotr Drabik

Date of Disappearance: September 1, 2006

Location of Disappearance: Honolulu last seen or Kauai travel destination

Age at the time of disappearance: 34 years

Description at the time of disappearance: The missing person was 184 cm tall and had brown eyes.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Tattoo: a bird on his left arm.

Details of Disappearance: Piotr had planned to travel to Hawaii. He was scheduled to fly from Edmonton, Canada, to Honolulu, Hawaii, with a stopover in Salt Lake City, USA. Initially, Delta Air Lines claimed that the missing person did not board the plane in Salt Lake City, and that only his luggage had flown to Hawaii. Meanwhile, a witness later testified to Utah police that he remembered sitting next to Piotr Drabik on the way to Honolulu.

Delta Air Lines once again checked the passenger list for that flight, this time finding that Piotr Drabik was a passenger and landed in Honolulu, as confirmed by airport security footage. He collected his luggage and, on September 4th, three days after he was seen in Utah, purchased a ticket from Honolulu to Kauai, Hawaii. This is confirmed by an account statement sent to his home address. Unfortunately, earlier reports halted the investigation in Hawaii. Therefore, the official investigation was conducted in Salt Lake City, despite all indications that this was not the appropriate search area.

The missing man's father flew to Hawaii himself to search for his son – he personally checked wherever he could, but most of the island is practically inaccessible and he was unable to circumnavigate it. There is no indication that Piotr went climbing, as he did not bring equipment from home. He was responsible and would not have gone climbing without the proper equipment.

Serial killers of high social status. Most of them were "normal" people living "run-of-the-mill" life. I wonder how many of them had high social status?

I can list at least three cases.

Lavrentiy Beria 1899-1953 - Commander of NKVD, war criminal, in private life also serial rapist, paedophile, some of his victims didn't survived "enounter" with beast. He used his unlimited power to gain access to victims. Executed in 1953 during clash for power on Kremlin. In 1993 during demolition of his datcha were unearthed remains of multiple woman and children although it's debatable did such mass grave was made of his victims or people who died hundreds years ago. Read both versions.

Elisabeth Bathory 1560-1614 - Hungarian countess. This is gonna ba specific as it's possible that her black legend was hoax made to discreditate her. Accused of kiling even 560 victims and making bath with their blood. Most likely it was hoax made in 1729 and true reason for her imprisonment was clash for power by Habsburg family.

Darya Nikolayevna Saltykova 1730-1801 - Imperial Russian noblewoman famous for numerous cases of torture and murder of her serfs from sadist reasons. Many early complaints to authorities about the deaths at the Saltykova estate were ignored or resulted in punishment for complaining. Saltykova was well connected with those in power at the Russian royal court and with the Russian nobility. Eventually, relatives of the victims were able to bring a petition before Empress Catherine II who decided to try Saltykova publicly, in order to further her "lawfulness" initiative. Saltykova was arrested in 1762.

Saltykova was held until 1768 while the authorities conducted a painstaking investigation. Catherine's Collegium of Justice questioned many witnesses and examined the records of the Saltykov estate. The investigating official counted as many as 138 suspicious deaths, of which the vast majority were attributed to Saltykova.

Saltykova was found guilty of having killed 38 serfs by beating and torturing them to death. Several of Saltykova's accomplices were also found guilty and were sentenced to public flogging followed by hard labour terms. She was sentenced to life imprisoment in Convent.
