Finally a true patina magnet brogue boots from Joseph Cheaney.

Greyfriars, Bronzed Rub off(teacore), pebble grain country style smart casual.

I went to the Cheaney store on Jermyn Street, London last Saturday. Sadly they had none this exact style of boots on stock, but at least they checked what is the perfect size on this 12508/F last for me. After it I confidently could order them from the Edinburgh shop online.
Next day they were on my foot in London. 👌
Very comfortable, quality boots as most of them from a great historical shoe manufacturer from Northamptonshire. Well worth the money.

Second summer in.

Was a weird looking something for first, but now I really like them.
Still i can't decide what is the correct description for them….They are sandals or shoes?

Something much simple, more rugged looking pair of boots from Tricker’s.

Bernwood low leg(6.5 inches) loggers.

Well. These boots far from the proper logger boots, but they can outlast their owner with couple of resole and rewax I believe.
They closer to the Stow, Malton, Burford, Grassmere country field boots. Same 4497’s last, same construction, just different patterns from a much rugged leather.
Sadly the Bernwood discontinued too.

Luckily I found them in my size.

The Leather
,,C.F Stead waxed Ridge suede is a traditional heavy weight hunting suede or reverse suede (Rough-Out).
It offers a characteristic rough casual texture with a completely natural full grain on the reverse. The leather is oiled and waxed to provide a high level of weather proofing, combining comfort and durability. Over time the suede develops a unique patina and can be readily brushed and re-waxed to restore its original look after heavy wear. “

Only pair of Moc toe style boots in my large collection.

I never was a big fun of the Moc toe. I tried on couple of them in the Red Wing store London years ago. Their lasts just doesn’t fit my slightly wide foot. My Most of Red Wings, IR, BS, Engineers etc US size 9-9.5D. They are okay fit on me. Here in the UK find a EE wide almost impossible. When I sized up for bigger toe room, just look was too big on me. So I just ignored them.

But this pair is different.
They are better quality, looks, fit much better than most of Moc toe in my opinion. Great combination of the traditional British historical heritage boot making used modern patterns and materials.

Sadly they are discontinued too since 2018, so I had to hunt them on the second hand market…looks were much better before the cleaning and conditioning in my opinion. 😄
No problem, I gonna make my own patina on them quite quickly as usual.

Great comfortable rugged casual boots.
I paid £60 for them. ✌️

…Joseph Cheaney, Gateshead Apron Derby Boot in Tan Waxy Pull Up Leather…

Leather:
,,Waxy pull up leather is raw material which is impregnated with oils and waxes during the tanning process, resulting in a migrating tonal quality and more rugged appearance as the boot wears.”

Last142:
,,Having studied the imagery and archives from both the Shoe and Boot Museum and online references, we strived to reproduce an authentic last referencing the pilots attire from WWll. With an industrial feel, bulbous toe shape and high pitch angle, the last 142 is renowned for its superior comfort”

Soles:
,,Vibram Mini Ripple Sole with EVA wedge heel.”

Just cleaned and re-waxed my ,,let’s get all shit done’’ boots. Nope, not the first time.

Dish soap, water, vinyl brush, sunshine, Beeswax dubbin and my fingers…Magic. 👌

Sanders & Sanders Curtis boots.
C.F. Stead waxy commander leather, Vibram Wedge soles.

They took the beats almost one year in the work. They can do more I believe. Well, they aren’t work boots, but they definitely did the job.
Even the thin dress laces were stronger than I thought.
Great but unusual looking British footwear. I haven’t seen any British made boots here in the UK with unstructured toe box, except the William Lennon B5.

I love their vamp. Rolling like a Japanese Clinch. 😄

1.5 years of regular wear from new.

Didn’t conditioned yet, just gave a proper buff with horsehair brush after every wear.
Because for fun and style don’t need a highest end.

There is something beautiful in a pair of British made country derby boots.

Even if they haven’t worn in. Well, this particular pair about 40 years old. They were samples in the Alfred Sargent factory shop in Northamptonshire. I bought from an 70 years old gentleman. His father spent his entire working life in different Factories in Northamptonshire as shoemaker. I believe he knew what brand is the best value for the price.

Sadly the A.Sargent is not exist anymore.

This last 77fx(wide)fit my foot much better the Trickers 4497s fit6.

I found on eBay for £150.

Almost new Hipster city Blacksmith 3345’s first abuse in the wild.

Impressive transformation. Now look closer to what they designed for. 👌
